Sabaneta Park, located just south of Medellín, is a hidden gem that offers a charming glimpse into traditional Colombian life. This lively yet laid-back square is the perfect spot to slow down and enjoy the simple pleasures of the day. I loved sitting with a cup of local coffee, watching families, friends, and neighbors gather, chat, and pass the afternoon together. It felt like stepping back in time—there’s a nostalgic, small-town atmosphere that’s hard to find in the city’s busier areas.
The park is surrounded by cafés, local eateries, and street vendors, making it easy to grab an arepa, empanada, or a sweet treat while you soak in the vibe. If you're looking for an authentic, local experience away from the tourist hotspots, Sabaneta Park is definitely worth a visit.

Every time I visit I find something new to try. The place is very lively, lots of food spots to choose from. Either restaurants or outdoor kiosks. There is a cute little makeshift bar outdoor located right in a parking lot that serves great micheladas and drinks & offers seating and music. I’ve seen that they’ve even hosted concerts or musical groups with a closed in stage etc. Lots of comfort food all around like typical Colombian fare, like buñuelos empanadas chorizo and more. The restaurants located nearby offer great plates of typical foods too. They have a nice ice cream shop to end on.

Is a nice place to experience the town vibe of Colombia - a place to get some Colombian really traditional food, some coffee with buñuelos (of the most recognized in Antioquia!) almojábanas and pandequesos or simply jump in the park vibe of drinking some beers or tinto and do some people watching - a place to slow down the pace.

I absolutely love coming to this park, especially on weekends but during the weekday it is a nice place to relax because it is not crowded and always calm. On the weekend there is much more to do with vendors and lots of activity. Many restaurants and bars to choose from gives you plenty to enjoy and mass at the church is recommend as well if that is your thing. I highly recommend visiting this park when in the Sabaneta area.

This park is kind of a small park.
It's beautiful, clean, safe, and a nice place to stay under the tree's shades, having a ice-cream or popsicle.
If you wanna have lunch, there are many options around the place. Most of them serve local food and play local music.
I recommend Sabaneta Park for sure.

This is a large, public, cobblestone square in the middle of Sabaneta, surrounded by restaurants and bars and the ubiquitous church. It’s a gathering place for the locals, with many benches and fountains and trees where you’ll find families and friends young and old gathering at all hours.
