The Sconset Bluff Walk is a true Nantucket gem. Winding through the backyards of magnificent cliffside mansions, this public footpath offers an unparalleled blend of natural beauty and architectural grandeur. As you meander along, you’re treated to breathtaking sea vistas that seem to stretch endlessly, juxtaposed against the backdrop of some of the island’s most opulent homes. It’s a unique experience, allowing you a peek into the world of luxury while remaining grounded by the raw, scenic beauty of the coast. For those seeking a leisurely walk rich in views and charm, the Sconset Bluff Walk is an absolute must. It’s Nantucket’s scenic beauty and storied elegance rolled into one unforgettable journey.

This walk is a little strange walking through everyone's backyard but is also amazing offering up great views of the ocean, beach an grand cliff side homes. The walk took me about an hour to get from the bus stop to the Lighthouse, taking my time and about the same on the return. I think the bluff walk is a mile and a half one way with another half mile to the Lighthouse. Some people seem to be real engaging with painted shells that interact with jokes and invitations down their stairs while others have "private" signs up. Try to be respectful and appreciate this access to great views!

Nice little walk thru people back yards. The house were very nice and beautiful on the white patio road. Once on the dirt path, the rest are pretty much the same. I would turn around and enjoy the rest of the very small town. Unless, you want to see the lighthouse, then keep going or use the main road to walk faster.

Incredibly easy to miss the entrance, but if you find it, definitely take it. Rabbits abound on it and you can get some amazing views. However you will feel like you’re walking through people’s backyards and trespassing (despite this legally being here since the 1890s).

The Sconset bluff walk is by far one of the most beautiful pedestrian paths I've ever been on, but definitely a must-do when on the island of Nantucket! We hiked it today when it was foggy, but have also been on a sunny day and it's just as beautiful.

At first we missed the entrance, but quickly noticed people walking along the bluff. We took this way on the way back and you can’t resist the beauty of the ocean and the houses. We even saw a deer grazing on the beach!
