Archeological Museum of Djerdap — Attraction in Kladovo Municipality

The Archaeological Museum of Đerdap in Kladovo presents important testimonies of the various cultures of the prehistoric, Roman and medieval periods on the Danube. It was established with the aim of integrating the protection of the archaeological heritage of the Danube in the area of ​​the wider region of Gvozdena Vrata – Djerdap and the overall presentation and promotion of this significant heritage. It is one of the few specialized museums in Serbia, one of two archaeological museums. Interesting place, where you can find out a lot about life during Roman empire, and the times before. River Danube was border of Roman empire, fortified by facilities such is Diana located near by Kladovo, so a lot of people lived there for centuries leaving a lot of pottery, coins, monuments...

Музей с ценнейшими экспонатами. Перед тем, как на 20 м был поднят уровень Дуная в результате строительства гидроэлектростанции Джердап, проводились археологические исследования затапливаемых территорий. Находок оказалось огромное количество. Часть находится в Этнографическом музее Белграда, часть хранится в Археологическом музее Кладово. Большая часть экспонатов относится ко временам, когда по Дунаю проходила граница Римской империи. Оригиналы рыболиких богов-валунов с археологического объекта Лепенски Вир (8000-летней давности) также тут. Фотографии тех времён, когда были сделаны находки, макеты, потрясающей красоты карта Дуная и так далее - музей очень впечатляет. Самое хорошее, конечно, осматривать экспозицию с экскурсоводом, но мы опоздали(приехали примерно в 15 часов).
