Hotel Djerdap — Hotel in Kladovo Municipality

We were looking for a Hotel in the other side of Danube river being in Romania and eventually stayed in this Hotel in Serbia. Half an hour the whole procedure, ie crossing borders etc.||Well. the experience was not bad, this is a 3 star Hotel,quite decent and probably recently redecorated.Public Parking was just opposite of the Hotel and it was free.The Gentleman in the reception gave us a room in the first floor looking the Danube river in the side with 2 separate beds .The room was not very big but for 3 star Hotel was OK, bathroom normal size too. Beds and Mattresses quite good but not enough covers (duvet) so we were cold at night. WiFi although not easy to be connected ,it was eventually worked OK.Breakfast was complimentary and it was OK. They also prepared and offered Greek coffee to us||A High school was also staying for the night in the Hotel but kids although noisy ,at night no problem at all. Don't expect too much. Staff is trying, but this is a 70s hotel frozen in time. What was good: food was generally OK and varied and sufficient, hallways and ballrooms are renovated, live bands gave a great performance (on the 3 parties around New Year's) playing without any break for hours. What was less good or downright bad: rooms are small, no proper storage space (we lived from suitcases), smoking is allowed everywhere and this meant we had to inhale a lot of smoke during the 3 days we stayed there, food was old in the 2nd day, music was mainly serbian (80% at least), very little international music and no performance in English. Title says it all, amazing. Starting from reception, you will be greeted by very kind and attentive receptionist. Once we entered the room, we were blown away by how clean, comfy and spacious it was. Beautiful view, big and nicely decorated rooms. We decided to go for a dinner in the hotel, even tho there is a lot of other restaurants in the vicinity. Our waiter Mirko was very kind and made the stay in the the restaurant astounding, full filing our every wish. Food itself, 10 out of 10. Portions are huge and delicious, real Serbian food. Breakfast was also out of this world and Ms Dusica made it even better with her fast and kind service.
