Shri Nimishamba Devi Temple is located in Rajarajeshwari Nagar of Bangalore Urban district.The Temple is dedicated to Goddess Nimishamba, an incarnation of Goddess Parvati, the consort of Lord Shiva. The temple is believed to have been constructed to bring peace and prosperity to devotees who pray with devotion. According to legend, Goddess Nimishamba grants blessings in just a minute ("nimisha" in Sanskrit means a minute or moment). Hence, the temple's name emphasizes the belief that the goddess fulfills the wishes of her devotees quickly. This temple was constructed in 2006 by Sri Somavamsa Arya kshatriya Committee members.As per Varna Vaibhava Kanda of Srimad Brahmanda Purana, Shri Nimishamba appeared to Mukta Rishi and helped his son, Shashi Bindu, to kill the most powerful demon called Janu mandala, grandson of Vrithrasura. Her incarnation took place in Vaishaka suddha Dashami and on this day "Nimishamba Jayanti" is celebrated by Somavamsha Arya Kshatriyas in a grand manner. The architecture of this temple is wonderful resembling the South Canara style of architecture.This temple was built with a special red laterite stone. In the sanctum a Sri Chakra Yantra is seen in front of the presiding deity. Around the temple one can see shrines for other gods like Sri Siddhi Vinayaka, Sri Lakshmi narayana, Sri Moukthikeswara and Sri Saraswati. Nitya Chandika Homam and Nitya Annadana are done here. The religious rituals are followed as per shringeri mutt style and there is a lot of positivity in this temple.Regular ceremonies like various homas and other celebrations can be held in temple premises which have 3 halls of varying sizes.The road is quite crowded. Two wheeler parking can be done on the roadside, but car parking is quite difficult.
