I visited the restaurant at RR Nagar this evening with my family and decided to go for buffet. The food was OK and not as expected. However, I ended up in having few concerns after dinner.
The cutleries do not appear to have been properly and hygienically cleaned. With some stains on the spoons and katori's I am of the opinion that they are not thoroughly cleaning it up with hot water and sterilising it. It gives me an impression that the cutleries have been just wiped with a piece of cloth rather than water washing at all !! This needs to be looked into.
All the food items in the buffet were just lukewarm whereas we expect things to be hot. The soups were also lukewarm When I brought it up to their knowledge, they informed me that the had made the spread only at 7:30 PM and I have come in at 7:45 itself (the buffet starts at 7:30PM) and hence they were lukewarm. Trust atleast those who came in at 8:00 pm onwards got a hot food.
I ordered mineral water. They do not serve branded ones like Bisleri, Aquafina or Kinley. They only serve their own bottled water. So long as they maintain strict quality check with the bottler, it is OK. However, my concern was that in the bottles, the lock ring which shears on opening the cap did not cut at all. It comes along with the cap. I showed it to them and they said it could be one off case. Then I saw in the opposite table also the same issue where the lock ring did not cut on opening. It makes me believe that they may reuse the bottles that have not been either crushed or taken back by the customers and fill with whatever they want and make business out of it. I have informed the same to the supervisor incharge at that time and hope he takes care of it.
We could not find the date of bottling very clearly. From whatver I could make out in the bottle served to me, it appears to be the month of 07. If that is so, why should they serve old stock water bottles or whether they are refilled bottles with their unique design as I have mentioned in point no. 3.
The management should look into all these very seriously as my experience was not as I expected. The experience at Jayanagar few months back was really good which prompted me to go to this outlet.
I now have a reservation to go again to this outlet and may be I may have to think twice before stepping into any other 1947 also due to...
Read moreTried this place for lunch recently and they really have a very ample space for seating and interiors is based on the freedom fighters of India as well as Indian Rulers and about their battlefield. Loved the concept as it preaches lot of things. Tried Cream of Tomato soup and it was served hot as well as portion size is also big. Starters - 1947 Platter - it had different varieties of starters including Brocolli which was well marinated and Paneer had a very soothing flavour which gave a hint of sweetness as well. Babycorn and Veg Sheekh kebab was the other two starters given in the platter. Crispy corn pepper was outstanding and loved it. Main Course - There is no words to describe about the taste, quality and quantity of the main course. Especially the curries were really good and my favourite is their 1947 special White paneer masala which is sweeter in taste and goes really well with Garlic Naan. Goan Pepper Veg Curry was also good with a spicier version and loved the taste. Richness in their curries and Indian breads has no words to describe. Desserts - Sizzling brownie with Vanilla ice cream- which was also topped with Caramel Crunch and choco chips. Brownie had a very good taste. Kulfi with Rabdi is special dessert as far as I know from a very long time and it was good. Their Malai Mar Ke Kesar Pista Lassi was truly amazing and definitely a must try. Do not forget to try it out. Definitely worth trying and do must visit this freedom fighters theme based fine dine restaurant if you in and around...
Read moreLooking for a place to go dine with your family with some good food, here is your choice:
1947 is very apt to it's name, the ambiance of the place is done well. Every wall has a note on freedom fighters on Floor 1 and Floor 2 talks about the various wars during freedom fight. The ceiling is covered with paper clippings from the news papers of 16th August 1947. There is a good set of retro music being played in the background.
As perfect as the setting is, the food is just perfect. We started off with their spicy corn soup which is actually spicy. The 1947 platter has a range of dishes from sweet potato tikka, tandoori broccoli and more, it was a good blend of multiple dishes on the platter. We had crispy corn chilly pepper, it was crispy and tasty that we enjoyed it as a starter. We had the Sholey paneer tikka, the paneer was fresh and tender.
Moving on to the main course we had this royal Mughalai tomato curry which was really tasty, it was made is a cashew based sauce, it was royal. The paneer patiyala was delicious with the various breads that we had ordered in. We had a vegetable biryani which was good.
And for the last course we had the sizzling brownie which was served with small pieces of butterscotch candy. That added a lot of crisp and was so good with the sizzling brownie. We ended with a rabdi kulfi which was tasty again, the rabdi is thick and the whole course was good without...
