"Before the arrival of Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu in Vrindavan, Sri Lokanatha Goswami and Sri Bhugarbha Goswami came here. Being very humble and without any possessions (akincana), they performed bhajana at the many pastime places in Vraja-mandala. Sri Lokanatha Goswami found the deity of Sri Radha-Vinoda in Kisori-kunda in Umrao-gaon near Chatravana and served Them there. Later, on the request of Rupa, Sanatana and the other Gosvamis, he brought his worshipful Sri Radha-Vinoda to Vrindavan and began to worship Them near the temple of Sri Radha-Ramana. Nowadays, the original deity that was worshipped by Sri Lokanatha Goswami is in Jaipura, and the pratibhu-vigraha is worshipped in that same temple in Vrindavan. Sri Gokulananda, who appeared at Sri Radha-kunda through Sri Visvanatha Cakravarti Thakur, also arrived in this temple later on. The govardhana-sila given by Sriman Mahaprabhu to Sri Raghunatha dasa Goswami used to be present here. The original deity of Sri Gokulananda is now also situated in Jaipura with Sri Radha-Vinoda. In the courtyard of the temple are the samadhis of Sri Lokanatha Goswami, Sri Narottama Thakur and Sri Visvanatha Cakravarti Thakur." Excerpt from the book 'Sri Vraja-mandal Parikrama' by Srila Bhaktivedanta Narayana Gosvami Maharaja

All prayers to Gopinath ji. The temple is old and historic and the diety of Krishna is so adorable that just on beholding it one feels like cuddling Krishna. The temple is quiet old and historic in Vrindavan and situated close to Radha Raman temple in Vrindavan. It would be hardly 400 Mts away from Radha Raman hi Mandir. The story of the diety goes like this Once, the current of the Yamuna cut into her bank and a very beautiful deity of Shri Gopinath was revealed from under the sand. In...

This temple is a few minutes’ walk from Govindaji’s temple, was founded by Madhu Pandit Goswami, and its marvelous construction reveals a glorious past. Gopinatha, the presiding deity was first installed 5,000 years ago by Vajranabha, Lord Krishna’s grandson, and rediscovered at Vamsi-vata by Paramananda Goswami.

Sri Krishna´s grandson Vajranabha had three deities carved according the descriptions of Krishna given by Parikshit´s mother Uttara. Thousands of years later the same deity of...
