Amidst the many temples flocked with superlative technologies is this numinous epitome of simplicity known as the Tatiyasthan in Vrindavan where technology is a farfetched prospect, and this is what makes this divine place different from the crowd. Tatiya sthan in Vrindavan is famous because it is the place where candles are lit after sunset. Every part of this temple takes you to the era when there was no name of technology. Forget about CCTV cameras, the place is alien to electricity and one can hardly find a bulb in the premises. The reason behind this divine place being so is the belief of choosing godliness over the unnatural means. Tatiya Sthan was the meditation point of Lalit Kishori the seventh follower Haridas ji. Haridas ji used to meditate in Nidhivan and the same ritual was followed by his followers. Lalit Kishori left Nidhivan and meditated here as the place was secluded from the other parts of Vrindavan and was closest to the banks of River Yamuna. Later the divine place was fenced with bamboo giving this place the name Tatiya sthan, as bamboo in Hindi means Tatiya. Tatiya Sthan: Where simplicity meets divinity Tatiya sthan in Vrindavan is the only place in Vrindavan that connects devotees with nature. The place is home to many trees that entwine divinity of some sort, that can be felt in the ambiance of the place. Since there is no electricity the place goes dark after sunset. The divine place is centered with the idol known as Mohini Bihari that reveres the captivating glimpse of Lord Krishna. Radha Ashtami is the most famous festival celebrated in Tatiya Sthan that attracts devotees from every corner of the country. On this festival, the temple is flocked with devotees who want to have a glimpse of Swami Haridas Ji’s pious slippers and utensils. Tatiya Sthan in Vrindavan is one place that connects you to nature. Amidst the urbanization of Vrindavan, this divine place is the only one left secluded, thanks to the ritual followed by the priests of this heavenly place. Read moreThis holy place is beyond description as the air, the soil, the trees, everything and everywhere is just Krishna. The word Tatiya has two meaning, something which is close to the Tat or the river bank and a place made of bamboo and grasses.Since this place is very close to the Yamuna ji hence the name as Tatiya sthan or place. When I first entered the place I was just walking within trees and bushes and chirping of birds was going on. The soil beneath was like rose petals and everywhere was just Krishna Krishna Krishna. The saints were very simply dressed with just kurta and dhoti and there entire body was smeared in the soil or the Raj of the place. So they don't apply Tilak but the entire soil on their body and the face and head. After reaching the main entrance there was a shoe stand and that was the only place where there was a bulb but beyond that point no lights of electricity but only Diya or earthen candle to light the entire place. This place was built around 250 years ago and it is still the same. The main saint Rasik vihari ji Maharaj is consiered to be the incarnation of Haridas Thakur has got this place built. There are samadhi sthal and nice temple of Lord Shri Radha Krishna. I was blesssed to witness the evening arti and sandhya pooja with nice bhajan and kirtan played by expert singers and devotees of the Lord. To my surprise when Lord went to sleep after evening pooja at 7 pm I had a priveldge to have prasad while sitting on ground with great saints and devotees and on leaf plate enjoyed poori, roti saag, shrikhand, daal, sabji, Mohan pak. And I was already dancing in happiness after getting this blessing of Lord Krishna and his devotees. If you really want to experience the bhakti done in the original way about 300 years ago and away from hustle bustle and artificial life then you must come to Tatiya sthan. Jai Shri Krishna ...

Best time to visit: In my opinion the best time to visit is at 11:30 a.m. If you visit there at 11:30 a.m. you will be able to have darshan of Holy Temple, then have delicious and mantras filled bhandara and have darshan of Swami Ji. Bhandara is being served after bhog at 12 noon, which I suggest not to miss. You will relish the ultimate taste of Bhandara.
You may, if you wish to, donate for Bhandara also. Meet Pujari Ji there for the purpose.
Also there is a Goshala on the other side of the Parikarma Marg, which is managed and adminstered by the Tatiya Sthan.
Note: Since electronic gadgets are restricted there inside the place, please ensure to either not to carry or to switch off the mobile phones, laptops, etc. when you entered into the premises. Please try your best to maintain the sanctity of the holy place.
