What can families do here? Top 5 fabulous outdoor activities for children in Jurong!
Try out the playground of course! The flying fox and and swings are definitely the first place my kids run towards. These facilities are fairly new and well maintained.
Cycle! Compared to other parks nearby, lakeside park offers a more scenic and friendly route for kids and families. It can still get a little crowded on weekends but nothing like in Bishan Park. Can rent a bicycle near BLK 353 at around 8 bucks an hour. Company is Gocycling. But do be warned that there are certain parts in the park that you cannot cycle.
Send your kids for a rollerblading classes while you work out!
Didn't know skating was so popular in Singapore! We started to become regular visitors of this place now ever since the kids and I decided to take up rollerblading classes here. These rollerblading lessons come highly recommended by our fellow expat friends from Canadian International School. We were really excited to learn that kids as young as four can actually start to learn skating here.
This place is particularly friendly to skaters due to the nice big space to practise. There are weekend holiday camps organised by two skate schools here. Try inline fitness and skate with us. Fees are reasonable and group sizes are alright. Do check out their websites for class schedules before you go down.
4)Bird Watching - we spotted a kingfisher while cycling and there are always waterbirds wondering around on the morning. Best to come on weekdays morning for this.
I love how this park is like a wonderland in itself. There are so many parts of it to be explored. Every part lead to yet a different play experience. Making it not so crowded with people. My kids are aged 8,6,3.5and 1yo yet theres just about enough elements to engage them in outdoor play. The toilets are well maintained. I never had the nightmare of going into it whenever my minis had the urge to relieve themselves. Theres bidet too wic makes it helpful for sanitation. I love how the park is well maintained kudos to the staffs there. The staffs stationed at the entrance are very welcoming as they greeted us chirpily as we enter. But i really hoped that this would be a permanent thing. As patrons also must do our part in cleaning after ourselves in making the park comfortable for all in the long run. The park is now our number 1 go to place with the children to play. I love how theres ample of seats for parents to sit and ample of lots allotted to park our prams. There were plenty of nature element for the kids to observe from agile leaping squirrels, chilled komodos, tree lizards, birds, insects and pretty...

I didn't really like west side as I am more of an east person but until today it appears that getting a housing near this lake could be a possibility!
There is a special plot of land that you can rent for hundreds plus a year and you can grow all you want! Cucumber, chillies, bitterguord, potato 🍂 and many more.
