⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ We visited Eden @ Chinese Garden around 6:30 pm for dinner. Just a 5-8 minute walk from Chinese Garden MRT, the café is conveniently located and easily accessible. It sits in a peaceful corner of the garden entrance, surrounded by greenery perfect for a relaxing meal away from the city buzz.
Seating & Ambience There was no queue when we arrived. Indoor air-conditioned seating requires advance reservation, but outdoor seating is available for walk-ins. Though outdoors, it’s well-ventilated with fans and felt comfortable throughout. The environment was pleasant, peaceful, and family-friendly, ideal for casual gatherings or an evening wind-down.
Food & Experience The menu is relatively small and leans toward Malay-style comfort food. Here’s what we tried: • Nasi Lemak – Nicely presented with fragrant rice and traditional sides. The sambal was balanced and not overly spicy. A good, satisfying local classic. • Beef Rendang with Rice – The highlight of our meal. The beef was tender and well-marinated, with a thick, flavourful rendang gravy. Bold spices, rich taste definitely worth returning for. • Chicken Burger – A decent option. Soft bun and simple patty; not exceptional, but good enough if you’re craving something familiar or child-friendly. • Meatball Pasta – The meatballs were acceptable, well-cooked and had decent texture. However, the pasta itself was bland and lacked flavour. The sauce felt under-seasoned and could definitely use improvement to match the standard of their other dishes.
Drinks & Extras We didn’t order any drinks, but they provide free-flow ice water, which is a thoughtful and much-appreciated service, especially in Singapore’s warm weather. It’s these small touches that enhance the overall experience.
They also have a small ice cream bar with a few flavours great for a light dessert or to keep the little ones happy.
Service Staff were polite, responsive, and efficient. We placed orders through scan barcode, and food was served to our table shortly after. The overall service flow was smooth...

Not so great service - could have help a little with the seating arrangement especially with the indoor ones. Outside seating is free sitting but it was a very warm morning despite the overnight rain. Inside seating is limited and they could do more to manage the seating for the customers.
Small operations so lack of service staff I suppose. So don’t expect too much but a friendlier engagement would definitely perk up the atmosphere. Customer service… you don’t have to be fast but a nod, acknowledgment or even a smile behind the 😷 do help.
The price is a tad high and rather hyped food. The toast set was normal - nothing to shout about but the ordering system is confusing… what is “standard” in the options?
The drinks were sub-par. I would not return.
Not that it’s the restaurant’s fault but the foul smelling fertiliser the park had or was it the restroom opposite - damn smelly. Really cannot sit alfresco and when the door opens, it totally destroyed the ambience and probably tainted the taste and flavours.
The muddy stream spoilt the day. It would have been a good view and bring up the Instagram value of the place if it was flowing with clear water. That cost the single star in the ratings above.
A pretty long walk from the main road or MRT station but sheltered partially. It’s next to the Pagoda and the restroom… both convenient and could be the reason for the foul smells.
Didn’t try their signature chicken on waffles but the rest of the food didn’t quite make the standard - so I don’t think I missed much despite the rave reviews.
The matcha latte… too much soy milk.. made the latte seemed like it’s from a carton and the local tea… cannot make it lar.
When I thought we get a nice cafe in the west finally…. But room for...
