Great place to visit learning about plant seed and Singapore's effort in seed preservation. Nice collection and specimens are well displayed. Also, the detailed exhibition did lead me to learn more about plant seeds, different shape and sizes, different type of dispersal method. I've learnt new thing. :)

A nice educational place. It's a colonial bungalow converted into a display/ lab/ storage place for a variety of seeds. The display has a wide variety of seeds including the largest seed in the world. Alas the lab part is restricted.

Wenn man durch den botanischen Garten spaziert sollte man der Samenbank unbedingt einen Besuch abstatten. Es gibt einiges in der kleinen Ausstellung zu entdecken und man lernt viel über die Aufarbeitung und Konservierung von Pflanzensamen. Außerdem sind die Räume herrlich klimatisiert, was sehr zum verweilen einlädt und man sich etwas zeit nehmen kann um die Education zu studieren. Die Toiletten im Gebäude sind sehr gepflegt und in einem gehobenen Standard. Wir können einen kurzen halt nur empfehlen. Auch für Menschen mit Handicap zu empfehlen, da Lift und Toilette auf sie vorbereitet sind.

A beautifully restored Colonial era house that has been repurposed as a Seed Bank centre to caring for plant Seeds. The Seed Bank houses seed specimens of various Seed Dispersion type. Within the Seed Bank Centre itself are Live laboratories working on seed cleaning and preservation. The Seed Bank centre is fully air conditioned with working elevators and clean washrooms. Admission is free. Several Seed-theme sculptures were strategically located around the compound of the Seed Bank centre. Some interesting displays among them are: Double coconut aka sea coconut seed 海底椰 that look like the female lower body torso. It's the largest plant seed. Water caltrops seed aka buffalo nut 菱角. Water caltrop has been used for worship as prayer offerings by the Chinese. Cheng Tng Plant seed or Kembang Sa-mangkok, 胖大海 is a key ingredient in the...
