Sheng Siong Supermarket — Attraction in Singapore

Just had a terrible customer service experience before 12mn on 24 Mar 2023 with your employee - Chen Gui Mei at this branch (if she's not using another employee's ID).

First, she passed us the items after scanning without warning, expecting us to bag the items ourselves. Am I the employee or you? At least let us know first.

Tried to hold the item after realising why she held out the items, but she let go of the item before I had a firm grip and the item fell on the floor. THEN SHE HAD THE CHEEK TO SAY "THAT'S YOU, NOT ME". She didn't even turn around to see if we've got a firm grip on the items before letting go.

After paying for the items and preparing to leave, she realised there was something left in the basket and said "hey, YOU forgot something." Excuse you, YOU should be the one checking if there's any items left in there before telling us to pay since you were the one scanning the items and even had us bag the items.

Really Sheng Siong? This kind of attitude? I have no doubt she has offended hoards of customers by now. I'm sure there are better...

I enjoy shopping here. Pork and fish are fresh. Chicken not much choices. The rest are good. Service so far is good. There was a bad encounter when the fish section was almost time to close. The staff wasn’t friendly. I think service should be good from beginning to the end which is always difficult to maintain. This staff was very kind and helpful during opening or morning time. I wrote in a feedback on products of lotus roots and sea cucumber before. Your staff was very prompt to call me the next day. I answered all questions and told him I was not asking for refunds. After the call there wasn’t any follow up nor news from the feedback department. The lotus roots was tasteless and sea cucumber turn into water after I defrosted. Today 24 Sep 2025 at 1:15 pm I was assisted by a supervisor in purple tee known as Hock Cheng (小白) as this supermarket I was not familiar with, I was told to purchase Lotus flavour mooncakes, but that brand were sold out. Hock Cheng went the extra mile to find another brand for me, he also helped me while I was looking for pomelos as well.
