Vipava Old Castle — Attraction in Vipava

Vipacco castle lies in ruins, yet it has a wonderful vantage point of Vipacco barracks and the town itself. I visited this place a short time ago, after I remembered that I visited the Vipacco barracks when I was still in the military. The castle itself lies on a path towards a little chapel that hovers above Vipacco. The only thing I remember is that the path is extremely steep and rocky which eventually lowers itself towards an exercise ground (shooting) called Mlake. To get to this abandoned castle you will have to walk through uphill through the forest. It will take you approximately fifteen minutes in a normal pace, counting from where you exit the asphalt. The walk up is very nice and it will probably do you good with some fresh air. During the walk you can enjoy a nice view of Vipava. The view will be even better from the castle itself, from which the view is just astonishing.

Even though Google Maps was sending us the wrong way, we finally ended up at the castle. It was easy to get there, it was a bit steep but the kids managed it well.
