Kalahari-Oranje Museum Upington — Attraction in ǁKhara Hais Local Municipality

A little unexpected Gem!!! Very informative and educational. Yes, it’s small and operates on a low budget, but the staff was very helpful and gave us more “tourist” information about the area than any travel book or website provided. After visiting the museum and hall, take your time in the gardens, sit down on the bench, and enjoy the tranquil view over the river. I was disappointed in the Kalahari Orange Museum, apparently the only museum in Upington. Inside was a shambles with alot of unlabelled miss matched junk. The wagons outside, degrading in the open air, breaks my heart as valuable treasures are being destroyed. Entrance was R30 per person and clearly this money does not go to the upkeep of this museum.
