If I could give six stars, I definitely would! It takes a lot to impress me however, the service we received at our wine tasting was EXCEPTIONAL!! I hope management are aware that Cayden (hopefully the spelling is correct) is a huge asset to the venue… His humour, personality and knowledge of the wines make for a full experience which extends beyond the wine.

We started with a lovely, casual brunch at Jéan restaurant and then moved to the Marrakech wine tasting cave which, was aesthetically exquisite and very comfortable (they even provided blankets to keep warm).

At brunch, I had the Sunny Side Avocado Toast (minus the sun) and I appreciated that they were willing to remove the eggs and give me mushrooms instead. It was delicious! Two friends had it with the eggs and thoroughly enjoyed it too. Ask for a steak knife though as, it will make cutting through your sandwich a lot easier. To drink I had the fruit cocktail juice which was refreshing, and we then ordered a bottle of Marné Brut MCC which ended our brunch beautifully.

As mentioned above, Cayden was our host at the wine tasting and from the onset he had us giggling at his effortless humour. We all did the R95pp Red Wine Tasting consisting of four red wines. The Janét Shiraz ‘22 was a favourite amongst our group. Two of us shared the cheese platter (perfect for two to nibble on while doing the tasting) and we couldn’t resist ending with another bottle of Marné Brut MCC.

It’s worth noting that the restaurant requires a R100 deposit per person when booking (this is deducted from your bill) and there is a R100 deposit for the group when booking a tasting cave. The tasting cave booking is for two hours.

Klein Roosboom exceeded my expectations and I would definitely recommend them for delicious cuisine and...

We visited Klein Roosboom yesterday celebrating our engagement and what a spectacular day it turned out to be. We’ve visited MANY wine farms all over South Africa and I can honestly say that this was by far the best customer service we’ve ever experienced. Every staff member there was warm, welcoming and attentive to our every want/ need. Specifically the manager on duty, Michael, as well as our wine sommelier, Darren/ Darryn (not too sure about the spelling, my apologies) but o my goodness - these two were the best part of the day (don’t get me wrong the wine and platter was divine as can be seen on the photos) but that’s the thing - almost every wine farm these days have great wine and food, so what makes Klein Roosboom different? The answer: their exceptional customer service. It felt like we were right at home, relaxed and comfortable, sharing a glass of wine with long time friends. Both of them were extremely knowledgeable regarding the wine, it’s craftsmanship and I could tell they loved the industry that they’re working in and aim to satisfy each and every customer walking through their doors. Thank you so so so much for taking such great care of us and the genuine human connection we felt while visiting your establishment. Easily making it one of our favourite Sundays yet.

Highly recommend giving them a visit, you won’t...

Dear Klein Roosboom,

I am writing to you with extreme disappointment and a feeling of being completely extorted.

I have always been fond of visiting your restaurant, as I enjoy the scenery and concept of your brand. However, today, all of which I felt positive about is gone.

Myself and two friends were at Klein Roosboom this morning, about 30 minutes ago, for a breakfast in the vineyard. We grabbed two Sir Fruit Juice’s (2x 350ml orange juice) from the Jean Deli. Although there are no prices on the fridge, a trusting customer would like to think that once reaching the pay counter, the price should be reasonable. After all, it is only a small bottle of standard orange juice - which can be bought for around R85 a 6pack or around R15 a single 350ml bottle. To my disgust, when told the total for my bill, I noticed that each 350ml bottle of ordinary orange juice was R32! That means I paid R64 for 700ml in total of fruit juice. That is wildly ABSURD! Not only is this obviously overpriced and taking advantage of the customer, I am a well travelled individual, and I can say with complete confidence that buying a juice for that price (in rands) is few and far between, even in European countries.

I do hope that this review gets noticed and accepted as constructive...

On this bitterly cold day, we ventured to Klein Roosboom for lunch. We arrived and were greeted by the hostess, and shown to our table. The views of the vineyards are picturesque, and the country feeling is calming indeed. We ordered our drinks and were advised by the lovely waitress that she'd be back to take our food order and will bring bread to the table to nibble on while we wait for our meals. The fresh bread served with caramelized onion was really delicious and definitely unique. Our food arrived. All the dishes were very tasty and beautifully presented. The pineapple dessert was enjoyable. The peppermint dessert was not to my taste. It was very dense and dry. The restaurant was really busy, which means a lot in itself. Unfortunately, the only downside was that it was very noisy and difficult to converse. Service was excellent. The menu online was not the same menu as we had, which was a little disappointing. After our meal we visited the wine, tasting "caves". Wow, the atmosphere was awesome, and the caves are so unique. I do believe we will return for that experience. All in all, we had a good meal, with great service.
