Top top everything. Hidden gem. Weak point the peak season hence booking beforehand essential. However, get ready to fight for some space / peace. Highly recommended popping off season in fact.
Wines The Sauvignon amongst the top labels in all South Africa. Tip: get the seasoned vintage do not comply with the yearly. The chenin-based Buiten Blanc well balanced easy wine for summer. Did not make up our mind with red due to competing factors incl. but not limited to weather circumstances. Will catch up later on.
Top location, greenish grassy grand vibes within vines surroundings. Chillout atmosfere. Tasting room perfectly match every occasion either you stay inside or you sit outside in the backyard. Vineyard has also a fine restaurant / bistrot for (in)formal gatherings just in case although the wine tasting pays back twice more in terms of chilling atmosphere.
Top service, in particular when being assisted by Chantal at the wine tastings.
Buitenwerwatching alias “Non plus ultra” brand name speaking of, accomplished brand promise too. Some wines a bit pricey though. One of the few vineyards in South Africa offering decent Gewürztraminer. Basically the best Gewürtz so far.

Read moreSuch a kak birthday experience for me. The wine tasting reception staff leave much to be desired. Young individuals, seemingly students, stand behind the counter, appearing disinterested and engrossed in their phones. The older lady who interacts with guests comes across as condescending and very curt, making it feel as if we are inconveniencing them by expecting them to perform their job.

The contents included a scant assortment of crackers, two lonely strawberries, peculiar in-house spreads, and a meager portion of cured meats, of which the prosciutto suffered from spoilage and oxidation -how does that get sent out? We also did not receive the Coppa, Droewors, nor the crudités with hummus, which is incredibly dishonest.
Adding to the frustration, a service charge is applied to both the basket and wine. While tipping is not an issue, the problem lies in the service charge not fully benefiting the kitchen directly responsible for preparing the food, but rather going to the seemingly indifferent individuals in golf shirts who, one can confidently assume, contribute little to no actual...
Read moreWhat a southern suburb gem.I do recommend that you book for a wine-tasting because it is popular like you will not believe. We were blessed with a spot outside at the back under the umbrellas and we were happy out of socks!!We chose 5 wines and the range did have some fun names and beautiful labels on them.We loved the Chardonnay and the Hussey’s Vlei Sauvignon and the Chenin blanc was our favourites. Our you waiter were well trained and very relaxed with our tasting. The hours passed so quickly and the relaxed atmosphere wanted you to sit down and relax till the sun sets.Outside on the lawn there were picnics and little children and a birthday function thus a place for family and friends. We stopped at Coffee bloc for the most delicious Pasteis de Nata and chocolate brownies. There is a small gift shop and at the back of that Beyond restaurant which we did not try. This wine farm blew our minds because it gives you a atmosphere of a warm hug and friendliness with family orientation being the word of the day.Thank you for having this...
