Hear me out - I’m not vegan but always love trying vegan goods. And because I enjoyed it, I dragged my partner along who is very much NOT vegan. In his mind, he heard vegan market and thought plants and grass. And while he’s not wrong, it’s definitely not people standing around grazing.
We had the best time and I think he may have even enjoyed it more than me. From the delicious foods, fresh produce and mouthwatering desserts (still thinking about Lorraine’s chocolate cake) to the clothes, artwork, jewelry and so much more. We couldn’t get enough and visited each store more than once.
What’s even better is it’s so family friendly. With space for kids to play, furbabies to enjoy the sun and even sneaky beveraginos for those over 18, there’s something for everyone. But my absolute favorite part? The people. From those at the door to every vendor and attendee. Nothing but warm and welcoming energy. A true reflection of the space and its organization.
We’re so excited to be going back for more! Especially for the...
Read moreAs a proud vegan for over 4 years, I can confidently say that this is the most amazing food and vendor market in Cape Town. It's a paradise for food lovers with stalls offering fresh, delicious, and utterly addictive treats that cater to every palate.
Here are some of my absolute favorites that you just have to try: the irresistible mushroom bao buns from “Baoing Out”, spicy and crispy potato samoosas, and the divine milk tart, carrot cake and lemon meringue from “Stories Bakery”. But it's not just about the food! You'll also find a fantastic variety of thrift stalls, vegan skincare products, and other unique vendors. The live music is always a treat, and there's plenty of seating, whether you prefer basking in the sun or chilling in the shade.
This market is definitely worth a visit—whether you're with friends, family, or enjoying some solo time. Trust me, vegans are some of the friendliest people...
Read moreI absolutely love the Vegan Goods Market! I drive all the way from Kuilsriver to enjoy it. I always leave with tons of food and goodies. They have something for everyone and you can even bring your fur babies along, but they are not allowed inside the marquee where most of the stalls are. There are tons for the kids to do too, like a play area. It is always a vibe. I brought my dog along for the first time, and there were water bowls available for the pups. The food is great and there is a wide variety of something to eat, and thrifting to do. There is enough place to sit and enjoy your food and drinks in the sun/shade. It is helpful for yourself and the environment to bring some food containers along if you plan on taking food home. I love the space as it is safe and parking is free. I hope you're able to pop in and enjoy all that the world of vegan...
