Chilled Market at the Range — Local services in Western Cape

This is one of our favourite markets in Cape Town as it always has great vibes, amazing views and relaxed people and families enjoying a Friday evening. You get a huge variety of different fod vendors ranging from Asian inspired food, sushi, burgers, pizzas and waffles.

The kids zone is amazing with a huge jumping castle outside and a dedicated play area under a small tent. In the tent, they children find another inflatable, craft stations, sand art and a ball pit. They can play safely and supervised for R30 per child while the parents can sit down and enjoy a nice glass of wine or gin.

Dogs are also welcome, but they need to be kept on a leash and must be kid-friendly. Sometimes, baboons are also trying to invade the place and steel some food from the main tent. So be aware and stay away if they are coming. Rangers on site will take care of them.

The Chilled Market at The Range offers a lively and vibrant experience. With live music, people dancing, and a warm, festive atmosphere, it’s a great spot for a fun night out.

The market can get quite busy, but there’s a dedicated area for kids, including a jumping castle, making it family-friendly.

The food selection is excellent, with standout dishes like the ba me prik pho egg noodles, ribs, and the lamb and steak shawarma. However, the pizza was just average and might be worth skipping next time.

There’s plenty of seating, but the indoor area fills up quickly. Fortunately, there’s outdoor seating as well – just bring a jacket as it can get chilly, especially after sunset.

Great market for all. Right in our backyard and the trees with the mountain range makes it a perfect Friday night market spot. The market is one of a kind, with a variety of food to choose from, trinkets, drinks, pizza, vegan and gluten-free food are also available at some stands and they even have and host live events. Looking for a work function space, birthday or wedding venue the range will host. A incredible spot for any one of these events.
