Stevenson Cape Town — Attraction in District Six

Genuinely one of the best art galleries in all of Cape Town. The size, scope of art and information provided made it both a moving as well as informative visit. Was my first time visiting the gallery but I immediately felt at home and in my element. Surrounded by fellow art lovers and appreciaters, it was a pleasant, peaceful and extremely enjoyable experience.

Whether a seasoned art lover, or just looking for a good way to spend an afternoon, Stevenson has something for everyone. The wide range of mediums and works available as well as the completely free entry warrant a visit for anyone in the Woodstock area and I would go as far to say that it deserved for you to go specially to see it!

Deborah Poynton’s exhibition was my first way into the Stevenson’s Gallery recently. What a perfect building for a gallery. Double volume ceilings and generous inter-leading rooms take you on a wondrous trip from one work of art to another. Beautiful art, beautiful space. The flow of the gallery is amazing! I was there for an opening so there were a lot of people appreciating the art and interacting.

The gallery itself is run well and the team there always willing to assist, talk and explain.
