Recap You may say it’s bit commercial even though who’s not nowadays? However, the point is not the really well rounded marketing across their goat cheese farm and deli farm brand image. The point is Fairview has not really-and-intentionally-pushed their wines, in particular The Bloemcool collection speaking of, almost unknown to public it is amongst the top five in the South African wine arena.
Story Being regular of Fairview products 10+ years now, nevertheless had missed the opportunity to visit the factory a few times. Therefore, when could finally hit the target was exited like at my first prom date thus went for the premium wine tasting right before ravaging their deli shop profiting of the wine club card which offers advantages to loyal clients.
When at Fairview in Paarl, “the Farm” is on the real a beautifully set of tasting rooms. restaurant, bistrot, deli shop and lodging. A majestic staged, neat and clean authentically-stylishly-refurbished-to-tell-a-story farm. Everything plays a precise role at Fairview incl. but not limited to the two adorable Italian breed male goats making their show right at the entry.
When past this artistically staged presentation and walk in the premises towards the Premium wine tasting room, will feel the Fairview heritage above and beyond the goats story telling. Compelling and exclusive Fairview Premium wine tasting highly recommended and sidereal distant from on-the-buzz-fake-premium-vineyards’ in the Stellenboch & Constantia area.
The wine selection, the service, the food pairing, the vibes. The Bloemcool collection includes white and red, a variety of cultivars which will make you spoiled by choice.. Must admit I was never a fan of Shirah & Petit Shirah although after having sipped Fairview wines have changed my mind and took two boxes of their limited edition Broken Barrel 2019 blend of Pinotage and Petit Shirah among the other Fairview boxes I have secured in my rental car.
Bear in mind the wine range at Fairview seems limitless, the Vintage is the classic Fairview label you’ll find in almost any liquor shop. If you love Cabernet their Cab Vintage is top quality wine for less than a hundred rand. As well the Chenin and Sauvignon may encounter more palates then you might expect.
Debrief Love Brand. Just a bit too much touristy. Quarter of a million visitors p/y it’s massive, most of the times tour buses parked at the farm don’t match with the farm authenticity and cuty goats surrounding. Business is...
Read moreWe recently had the pleasure of visiting Fairview Wine and Cheese in Paarl, and it was an unforgettable experience. The farm is a true gem, offering a perfect blend of exceptional wines, artisanal cheeses, and a charming, rustic ambiance.
The wine tasting at Fairview was a highlight of our visit. The tasting room, with its unique barrel-shaped pods, created a welcoming and social atmosphere. We had the opportunity to sample six different wines, each expertly paired with Fairview’s delicious cow and goat milk cheeses. The staff were incredibly knowledgeable and passionate, making the tasting session both educational and enjoyable.
After the tasting, we enjoyed a leisurely lunch at the farm’s restaurant, The Goatshed Restaurant. The menu featured a variety of dishes made with fresh, local ingredients, many sourced directly from the farm. We savoured every bite while taking in the stunning views of the vineyards and surrounding landscape and watching the goats roaming in and out of their tower. It was the perfect way to relax and soak in the beauty of the area.
What truly stood out to us was the friendly and attentive service. The quality of the wines and cheeses was exceptional, and the picturesque setting made the experience even more special. Whether you’re a wine connoisseur or just looking for a relaxing day out, Fairview Wine and Cheese offers a fantastic experience that beautifully combines the best of South African wine and...
Read moreThis is a great place to come to if you are a cheese and wine fanatic. The wine and cheese tasting is great, and you can buy many of the cheese products there and a few things from their bakery, which is amazing.
The reason why i am giving 3 stars is because the food at the restaurant is below average. I have come to this farm twice, once in 2022 and then very recently this year, and both times i was very disappointed by the food. If you want your money to go to good use for food, i really would not recommend eating here. The milkshakes as well are below average, which are R85? A McDonald's milkshake tastes so much better for more than half the price, and you have a much better serving size. I understand that it's vegan products that are being used, but flip what a waste of R85. The cheesy sauce i also got with my burger was extremely bland, almost as bland as the personality as most girls i meet for a first date, which is shocking considering this is a farm that produces and makes cheese. I seriously expected a lot more from this restaurant, i thought my first experience was bad, but it was worse after the 2nd experience.
I wouldn't tell people not to come to this farm. As i said, it is an amazing place if you want wine, cheese, and a few good treats from the bakery. The scenery is also beautiful here. It's just the restaurant which i would not recommend to anyone unless you are just going here for the...
