The service received wasn’t as accommodating as I would’ve expected it to have been. I wouldn’t advise or recommend one to visit this establishment toward the end of the year, as they’re more accommodating to bigger groups (staff functions) than smaller groups or other clients. The staff weren’t particularly helpful, and hardly checked in on us. I’m not too sure how it’s throughout the year, but the experience wasn’t a pleasurable one for us. Bear in mind, toward the end of the year Cape Town sees an influx of tourists, so hopefully the service offered next time could be better and the staff could be trained to be more accommodating to all group sizes.
My friend was quite excited to see Eisbein on the menu, (as it’s a favorite of hers) and wanted to order the Eisbein, only to be told they’re not able to make it for her because of the staff functions that were happening (apparently the companies ordered all their Eisbein). I feel staff should be briefed on what’s available to order on the menu, and what’s not, as we wouldn’t have ended up staying if we had known from the time of arrival, and this could’ve been clearly communicated before we were seated.
The toilets are a little rough and ready, but the facility is clean and well maintained. There are quite a few flies, maybe they could look at investing in fly fans, especially with the heat of the location
On the positive side of it all, this establishment definitely lives up to its name. To all my pizza friends, I had the Georgio Pizza, and can highly recommend it. I did...
Read moreGoing through the reviews it is evident that this place service is terrible, especially when it comes to serving black people. My husband and I were made to sit there for close to 20mins and no one even came to take our drinks order. My husband went to ask the lady in front if someone could at least come take our drinks order twice and still no one came. A white couple that came after us got to be attended too while we were still waiting. Yes it could be that our waiter/waitress was still attending to others but at least acknowledge us, we don’t have to get up to ask to give in at least our drink orders and witness white people who got there after us get attended too. As black people we might not be the usual customer but we are customers like any white person there. We are not there for favours or free drinks/meals. We are also paying customers and we should be treated as such! We ended up leaving without ordering anything and for any black person going to this place, please brace yourself to not be taken seriously although you are a paying customer. A similar review as this was also done as far as 2016 on hellopeter and it’s shocking that we are still experiencing the same...
Read moreI have come to this restaurant 4 times so far with my friends every time we visited spice route (This would be the last time unless it improves drastically), at first we dropped by jewels and had the potato fries with the banana ketchup which was fantastic. La Grapperia was the polar opposite of quality but the service was great. 3 of us sat down and ordered the wiener schnitzel which had no flavor (unsalted) which was bizarre, the German meatloaf looked like Polony from another planet so I thought I was getting ripped off which was not pleasant to eat as it was cold at the time, my other friend ordered a pizza which had a generous amount of chicken but the tomato base was not complementing the flavour, not to mention there was a full piece of charcoal my friend had to spit out from eating one of the pizza slices. We did receive a complementary cheesecake after as a form of apology from the pizza issue which we did appreciate a lot which turned the review into a 3 star. For the price its not worth it as we could get higher quality food on the west coast side for much cheaper at the offered prices of LG. I believe this place could be far better as the food should match the...
