I was horribly disappointed with our experience on Thursday afternoon (12 December) After being seated by a charming young man, (he seemed to be unaware of our booking) who arranged for our wine to be brought to the table, service came to a halt. After an hour, we decided to look for our server, as we came hungry - we were there for lunch. After placing our order, we waited for a ridiculously long time - and got our food after getting the attention of a different server who did her best to assist. Your website states that you value a tranquil environment and that music is not allowed. However, a small group of people were playing music nonstop. My friend requested that the manager attend to us - we are still waiting for said manager. Regarding our server, it may have been her first day on the job, as it seemed that she really had no idea what was expected of her. It seemed that she may not have had any training at all? Yes, the gardens are beautiful, our meal was forgettable and as for service ... We probably won't be back.

This is an edit of my previous review I gave a few years ago which I have left below) We visited a land for as they are under new management. I was hoping for the same experience we had many times previously. We were sorely disappointed. The whole place has deteriorated with rubbish bags and papers in and around their stream and little lake. Service was slow and to get a waiter to your table is quite a feat. The prices are outrageous and the food was just nothing I would return for. The stir fry and curry were insanely sweet and the pie, inedible. Portions are small enough to feed a 5 year old but certainly not adults. Sadly, it will be a long while before they see us again. Please, please maintain at least the beautiful surrounds. They were sadly not what they were. Previous review: A hidden gem in Northriding, Johannesburg. Sit under the trees in their beautiful garden and watch the ducks and birds go by. No children under 15 are allowed which makes this a quiet, tranquil place to catch up with friends.

We enjoyed our Day Out and the beautiful what else and the service was good the atmosphere was a little bit different because people sit so far away from each other but I think it gives you preference in a lot of ways and proper conversations can be had it's a real joy from the perspective of family unity around the table the only thing that I think is little bit from a family perspective is that you can't have young children day and I understand it to a degree if it's hurting animals but I think that you cater for children differently believe that would be gives him a better attraction amongst the community and give him a stronger footprint as to the food the breakfast was 👍

This place is absolutely beautiful, we are regulars here as we live just up the road. We decided to have our sons birthday here, the kids had an amazing time as they could run about and play freely outdoors. Unfortunately your service sucks! You guys actually care very little of how you treat and speak to your customers. The manager or second in charge that assisted us on the day was so aggressive and loud infront of our guest towards the end making a scene, everytime we tried to speak he would shout over us and accused us of certain things. I cannot believe you would ever allow staff to behave this way towards customers.

We had about 35 adults attend and 18 kids (all of which also live very close to your establishment and very disappointed in your service) and had a total order of 29 pizzas done prior to the event. The large group of adults were served only 4 pizzas for over an hour. Guests were so frustrated they had to walk all the way to the bar to order and bring back their own drinks, as we were informed that we would have a dedicated waiter that was included with the venue hire. We asked about 5 times to please bring out more pizzas and kept getting told "it's almost ready ", guest were left hungry and ended up eating what was left of the kids pizza (we can guarantee 6 kids pizzas came out, each child only ate 1 slice. Eventually another lot of 4 came. We were told by the waiter there was still 12 pizzas remaining. I asked him to bring out three more and these were the last three pizzas that we ordered.

Later on we asked how many were left and we were told only 6. I told the waiter please make and bring out the 6 remaining pizzas so that i could give it to the parents before they leave, i asked the remaining parents to please wait and take pizzas home , they waited and waited and no pizzas came out for the next 1h45 min and some ended up leaving as they could not wait any longer as they all had young kids that were tired . This was very embarrassing for us. In the meantime my husband queried the quantity of food we received as it didnt add up. Your manager came back to our table where our guest were and was again so loud and aggressive and pointing his hand at me while speaking and our guests were watching all of this. Your manager admitted that he has no idea why there's such a long delay with the food and he told me he's going to follow up because he remembers me asking him over an hour ago for our order. EVENTUALLY when the last pizzas were brought out your manager saw that incorrect pizzas were given and admitted that what was on "his list" and what was given was wrong and he left to query it and never returned for feedback.

From what I can tell, new management has really tried to make Blandford Manor more appealing by making it child friendly, dog friendly, new appealing menu etc. but you guys seem to have a more defensive arrogant approach when dealing with your shortfall. If you look at the number of guests we had yesterday, do you really think they'll be returning to your establishment after what was experienced? Would not recommend customers to host...

I cannot rate this establishment low enough... not because of the setting or the food but because of the owners who dont seem to care about their customers. I had made a booking for 8 people, all of whom came from far away. When I made the booking, the only question I was asked was how many adults and the booking was done with no mention about a no children policy. Upon arrival at 12pm on a Sunday, we were promptly informed by the staff that our 3 month old baby is not welcome. When my wife inquired she was told by the owner in a less than friendly way that children are a problem. When I asked the owner to explain to us why a 3 month old is an issue his response was that "he can write a book about why children are an issue" We were not given any good reason why children are not allowed and that by asking how many adults were coming we should have understood that they did inform us that children are not welcome. This resulted in us having to find a table for 8 on a Sunday at lunch time. What bothers me is the way he treated us as clients. Given that we have just come out of lockdown and that we consciously chose his restaurant I find it shocking that he is willing to very rudely tell his customers to find another option despite us having a booking. I dont think this man deserves the support of the community. If you read this far please read other low ratings - everyone has the same complaint. Throbbing Strawberry helped us out within minutes of calling and there was no issue...

We got there for lunch today with hubby . The place was full. We were given an outdoor seating as requested , unfortunately not shaded and under the scorching sun. I did a quick change of reservation board to another table that just got freed since there was no waiter in site. Took about 20 minutes to get our drinks, the food came faster . I got a vegan breakfast and hubby a steak with chips. The food was abhorrent in both presentation and taste. My husband chips were brown, probably deep fried more than once , his cheese sauce was sugary and tasting nothing like cheese whilst the beef was medium to well instead of rare . I left most of what was in my plate as the scrambled eggs were undercooked and runny , the hash brown was mummified , the beans from a Tin and took forever to get some butter to spread on a supermarket bought slice of brown bread poorly toasted . Massive disappointment I must say as I was looking forward to our Valentine’s Day lunch - hubby will be out of town tomorrow- so it was our celebration . Such disappointment that we didn’t even order dessert ! As to go back … I...
