The Bokkie Park is a beautiful haven of nature in the middle of suburbia that kids and adults always thoroughly enjoy. Spacious with plenty of greenery around, and plenty of animal feeding opportunities.
Downside: 1.Over time a deterioration of lapas, park equipment etc is clearly visible, and with no consistent maintenance and upgrades this beautiful park could fall apart spectacularly, and become an unpleasant place to visit.
Why is management apparently allowing random vehicles of visitors to enter the premises to load/offload picnic items? This driving through the park will incur damage and alter the character of the park.
October 2021. Dams are in a very concerning state. Once clear water is now a dark green or grey. Putrid smell. Clearly a sewage leak or the like, a danger to ducks, fish and other animals, and the kids and parents visiting. Disturbing to note that something seemingly identical occurred in 2020 as well. Surely contingencies need to be in place to prevent such hazardous...
Read moreBokkie park need to look at the sick animals. Especially the bunnies. They have deminished over a period and as many times in the past it is useless to ask anybody to check the many sick and thin bunnies/snimals The steel old farm equipment put there for the children are dangerous because they need urgent repairs. The train coach and engine are such a lovely feature but NO safe way to climb up.. or walk inside, which sny child wants to do. Inside it is worse. It is iminent for a serious accident to happen. What I want to say is that it could be and once was a lovely place to spend a few hours. But after visiting it with my grandchildren on 24 Feb i don't think I will go again. I've been in Boksburg for many years and saw it at it's best. I can only come to the conclusion that whomever is responsible for the upkeep is useless and the municipality turns s blind eye. After looking at Boksburg lake'$ deterioration please tell us WHERE IN BOKSBURG a family can spend a...
Read moreThis one is tough; I think because it is more necessary than nice, i.e., for the growing community of small to zero pet and garden owners. Why would a Dad want to take his boy there? - surely a maatjie that jumps up onto the ornamental tractor expects the seat to be there and the steering wheel to turn so that vroom vroom works? It's green and obviously appreciated by lots of families, but where was the 'Bokkie' of the Bokkie Park? And what happened to the rabbits, tortoises, chickens, and pig? Lots of people having picnics, but none of them having any fun, because 'No alcohol.' You mean no coolers or beer with the Boerewors? So maybe that's why the little guy said, after about 19 minutes, 'I want...
