This museum is dedicated to the history of Riverdale and the surrounding area. The museum contains implements used by the original inhabitants of the region, photos of nearby rock art, a vast collection of slides of local flora, a nice collection of local newspapers from the 1890s on and a small library of books (in English and Afrikaans) about the area. Much of the museum is dedicated to lifestyle and history of white settlers in the area most of whom were Afrikaners but also many were of Jewish heritage. Furniture, paintings, farm tools, household implements (including a large number of sewing machines and even an old pre- electric washing machine), dishes, cutlery, are on display. There's even a famous sheep killing and dog evading fox (preserved by a taxidermist) on display. The museum curator is a delightful lady who gave us a memorable tour of the museum. ...
