I booked at 10am for an outside table with a view. I asked the lady, do u have any space outside I’m driving from Cape Town and that’s why I’m booking and calling ahead. She said yes of cause we have 3 tables outside available and I proceeded to book. I called again at 12.22 and stated to the person on the line I made a booking and please I’m going to be late could I please move my booking back. Yes the person said and I accepted. Mind you no notification of anyone saying anything about the specific table I booked not being available. We then get to the restaurant and tell the waitress that we booked outside and she says there’s no space. What excuse me!? Please call your manager because I booked at 10am and the lady said they had 3 tables able. And those are the 3 outside also when I was sitting at wine tasting I saw all tables being free and available. To my biggest shock the manager came out and said there’a nothing he could do. He wasn’t going to accept fault or even try to accommodate us and we explained but we booked at 10am and there were tables available and that’s why we drove 45 min from Cape Town to here to have the view and the outside. He was just standing there looking at us and saying moving forward do what u want and sit inside or leave. Those are your options. Why would I book and sit inside on a sunny day? Drive 45 min because I’m crazy? It’s so frustrating. All this manager did was make many many excuses for his own mistakes. Sorry was not going to help this issue....

If you are a group bigger than 4 people and want a spontaneous wine tasting experience.....give this a miss.

Flew from JHB for a few hours of wine tasting with my family(party of 7...2 kids and 5 adults)....only to arrive at the restuarant...to be told that they could not put 2 tables together for us on the terrace due to a 'law'???? They offered to accommodate us all inside....however as this was a beautiful day and the terrace had space...we did not want this. Having been there some years before...with fond memories of the food and wine....and the fact that there was space on the terrace...we did not want this.

For the record...there was another table which had been put together for a party of approx 12 people.

The attitude of the staff and manager where not welcoming and were not willing to accommodate our party of people and have 2 tables on the terrace joined...but rather add more chairs to 1 table...due to the fact that we would be taking away any revenue potential.

Utter nonsense...and a very sad and poor attitude of...

My friend and I were here for wine tasting over the weekend and I can honestly say that this was the best wine farm I've visited by far! Our sommelier was so welcoming from the moment we set foot there till the moment we left, she had a very bubbly and sparkling personality and she was just so vibrant and energetic. She was very knowledgeable about the wines and walked us through each of them with so much detail. She was so attentive to our needs and always checked in to make sure we were having a good time and we just felt so at home. We enjoyed the charcuterie and cheese platter for 2 aswell as the standard wine tasting. The sauvignon blanc was my favorite and I enjoyed it so much that I decided to buy a bottle to take home. All in all I would definitely recommend this winery to any and everyone who wants to experience high quality service, great wines and breathtaking views. Hidden Valley is officially my favorite place and I will definitely...

The day we visited they were extremely busy as it was a beautiful summers day in the valley. With 2 restaurants and the wine tasting area they can cater for quite a large amount of customers and I can honestly say they handled the pressure very well. We were a group of 6 people and managed to find a seat in the packed tasting center. Some of us did the standard wine pairing and others did the chocolate and wine pairing. Both tastings include the same wines, but if you have a love for chocolate I would recommend you do the pairing as the chocolates were delicious and masterfully paired. Each of their wines has a very unique bottle design and I especially enjoyed their white varietals. The farm is also beautiful and makes for great photo opportunities. It was my first time visiting the farm and they lived up to the hype.

Went on a drizzly day, and unfortunately the Deck area was not serving lunch today (obviously but sadly). With the self service of the Deck, you can collect your food and go sit at the water edge, have a picnic on the beautiful lawn, or on of the secluded tables along the path visible from the parking area... cute date idea. (At least this is how I understand it) Because of the weather we went for a stroll down the Nature Trail (short but fun for exploring) The kids and us loved it (the trail is not suitable for someone who can't climb big stairs) I believe it's about a 3km loop. Will have to come back another day to really appreciate the 5 * of this venue. We had 3 energetic kids with us, so taking them into the fine dining area for lunch was not an option today.
