Wiesehof Adventure Park has the makings of an excellent facility. Lots of fun for young and old. For the most adventurous there is a side winder supertube that definitely gets the adrenaline pumping. Then there is also 4 more supertubes ranging from a closed tube, a slower open tube and a faster open tube as well as a lazy and calm open tube. There is also a lazy river , more fit for children. The kiddies pool has two supertubes of their own where my seven year old enjoyed himself immensely. The staff were very friendly and helpfull and there are alot of staff so there is always someone near to assist if needed. There is a pedal park for children, where they can ride on the scooters or bikes. The scooters and bikes are supplied by the park, no need to bring your own. Then there is also the jumping zone where they can jump on the trampolines to their hearts desire. The park has quite alot of braai areas and open grounds where you can set up camp for the day. The only drawbacks are the large amount of people in the park all at once. The queues waiting for tubes and rides are so long you only get a few go's on each one for the whole day. Then I feel there should be more tubes available, I would suggest one per rider would be more appropriate. The queues for tubes is frustratingly long. Also note that although the website says they open at 10am, when we arrived at just before ten all the tubes for hire have already been rented out and all of the good seating had also already been taken. They defenitely let people in before 10am. Bring along a gazebo and lots of blankets and chairs for seating. Bring your coolerbox and have a braai while the children enjoy the water. A fun filled day for the whole family. Just remember no alcohol and no glass is...
Read moreAn inconsistent experience with a glimpse of family fun if you close your eyes.
Upon arriving at Wiesenhof (8:40) we were informed that people have been entering the premises from 7am already. This was not indicated anywhere on the website or the only booking system. This was extremely frustrating given the number of people trying to access the park. Fast forward 1 hour waiting in the line to enter we are arrive to an over crowded park with no amenities available for hire (tubes, gazebos, pergolas). Once we scuffled through hundreds of people and a found somewhat reasonable spot we attempted to find a pool to use. The website advertises six pools in total. However, this is incorrect. There are three "usable" pools (if you can find space) and the reset reserved for the slides. Moreover, the main pool of a depth 1.2m was only 3/4 accessible given a slide was connected to it. Wiesenhof staff are another concern with some not able to answer simple questions like which slides can be used with or without a tube.
Extra notes: No social distancing was being adhered too. No masks were being worn or enforced by both staff and visitors. Sanitizer was non-existent. Unprofessional staff
Overall, we spent five hours at the park (8:40 - 13:00) and our experience at Wiesenhof was a poor one. The park was clearly overcrowded with some unprofessional staff. Wiesenhof needs to better plan for busy days by limiting number of visitors and setting a clear time for opening of the establishment. They also need to relook at there pricing model and rates of items. The establishment is run to short change visitors.
Until then I recommend anyone looking for a fun, water based family adventure to...
Read moreThis place is an accident waiting to happen. The slides are poorly maintained, dangerously laid out anf woefully understaffed. Of the six men and woman with the word "staff" written on their t-shirts that I personally spoke to, not one was a certified life-guard in any capacity. One lady even joked with me that she was "kak in the water". I watched as multiple kids were allowed to fly down all the slides (with the exception of the one called the sidewinder, there was an enforced height restriction in place that worked) at once, any way they liked. There was running down the slides, jumping mid slide and countless acts of wrestling, dunking and general reckless behaviour on such large slides. The real horror moment for me was when a 4year old child was allowed to ride one of the largest and roughest slides in the park. This kid came flying out of the tube upside down and was lost in the whitewater that spills out onto a sharp edged metal walkway (dangerous layout). If it was not for the quick actions of a nearby dad, that kid would have drowned, as there was nobody watching the slide exit. Asides from the danger this establishment poses, their business ethics are no better. I paid R500 for 2 adults and 2 kids to enter the park today and was stunned to find out that they only provide a very limited amount of tubes to their patrons to use on the slides (tubes are mandatory to ride most slides) but rent out additional tubes to ensure all guests can ride. This is pure BS. If you have enough tubes, they should be part of the entrance fee, not an optional extra. Visit at...
