Scottburgh Beach — Attraction in uMdoni Local Municipality

Very pleasantly surprised, the beach is clean and comfortable. It has a nice holiday feel to it, the combination of the rocks, grass, river and beach is really lovely and adds to the overall experience.

There is sufficient parking and it felt safe enough with the car guards.

There are some security guards making it feel safe and the toilets are clean, however no soup.

The shops are a great addition, being able to rent an umbrella, gazebo, chairs etc really makes life easy and hassle free. The prices for these items are very reasonable and the employees help set up, they are friendly and efficient. This beach also has life guards on duty and there is a small playground.

The only negative is that the pool is empty and no longer in use. It would be awesome if it could be filled again, even using salt water would be better than it...

Scottburgh Beach is one of those places that has a little bit of everything. The main beach is clean and well-maintained, with lifeguards on duty and a shark net for added peace of mind. It’s perfect for families, especially with the tidal pool for little ones and easy access from the parking area.

There’s also a great atmosphere—locals and tourists alike enjoying the sun, surf, and nearby food spots. Early mornings are especially beautiful here, and if you're lucky, you might even spot dolphins swimming past.

It can get quite busy over weekends and holidays, but if you visit during the week or early in the day, it’s peaceful and relaxed. Overall, a fantastic spot for swimming, sunbathing, or just taking...

The beach is beautiful and has blue flag status. You can rent umbrellas and loungers for the day if you do not have your own. You can enjoy snacks and there is a restaurant with a beautiful ocean view. The waves are gentle here and you can have a good swim in the sea . If you are lucky you might swim with dolphins like I did. There are tidal rock pools where you can snorkel with lots of marine life. If you don’t like the sand you can put your items on the grass bank and enjoy the view of the sea. There is also the option of doing boat rides out to sea and you might spot dolphins.
