Good place for hanging out with your family and your friends especially for children because they can learn a lot from this part not only the trees but also the animals all over the world. The park is pretty big which is divided into many areas with different climates for the habitats can survive. You could find a small jungle in tropical countries or a desert with a lot of cactuses in Arizona US, hunting plants in Africa, some kind of snakes which is very poisonous in the world, some giant crocodiles, elephants, buffalo, monkeys, gorillas, tiger, cougar and many many exotic breeds that I can not name because they are so weird and I haven't seen them before while I am an adult so it is such a great idea to take your children there or even your friends, parents, the older one because i think there are many things will be new to you. In the Korean perspective, You could find a romantic tree-lined roads around the park where you can take some gorgeous pictures and the best moment is in the autumn, in the end of October the leaves will be fallen, creat a deeply romantic scene. There is a lake with kind of lotus flowers (I am not sure) and Koi fish, It looks great too. The entrance ticket 1000won for the train from the main gate to get inside. 5000won to enter the park for sightseeing and taking pictures. One more recommendation is that you should bring the food inside for picnic in the park. It is not a bad idea because the food in the restaurant inside is quite expensive and...
Read moreIt is very difficult to tell about this huge park with a short post but let me try. A very wide park area where is a lake located in the center. It has a big Car parking lot as well but it might be difficult to find a parking lot in peak seasons and weekends. I recomend you to go by subway line 4 (blue). When you arrive there, there are tens of traditional Korean snack sellers in the 50 meter long enterance. Way around park makes a circle. First, there is a 3 floor sphere shaped very well equipped kids cafe in right side after you pass the small bridge/ dunkin donuts and cable car. This kids cafe can be a very good chose in very cold and hot days. It is open till 6 pm and offers lower price after 4 pm. After that, there is a huge zoo when you follow the same way after kids cafe. But, Zoo is a bit far from enterance. Aprx. 1 km but walking way is very lovely. If you don't want to walk, you can either choose cable car to enjoy lake scenery from the top or take elephant look wheel train from the big building right in the center of entrance. Train is a bit cheaper than cable car. Lastly, there is an amusement park after the zoo which is also rich in terms of equipment. I highly recommend you to visit here once while you are in seoul. A very nice place for dating and for the families with kids....

The zoo was good. Ended up spending about 7 hours there. Was not expecting that. It was bigger than I anticipated. For ₩4,000, this was money well spent.
The "shows" are interesting. I definitely suggeat the dolphin show considering it is the only actual "show" and it is free. We saw many feedings and I would highly recommend the lion one. All the others were "ho-hum".
The Sky Lift was a waste of money. ₩5,500 to ride a ski lift. The one over the zoo might be worth it but they had already taken my money and wanted more to experiece that one (₩10,000 for "2 rides"). Take the Elephant train instead. ₩1,000 and well worth saving the long walk, especially at the end of the day.
They have all the big animals you are looking for (elephant, tiger, lion, hippo, giraffe, cheetah, etc.) with a couple unexpected ones.
The only major complaint is the landscaping. With a simple weed-wacker, they could easily clear out the habitats for clear viewing. The bushes in front are also a constant obstruction. We struggled to see many of the animals because of this.
All-in-all, I would say it was a day well spent and would recommend it to most. Would I go again? Probably not....
