We were on a 23:30H flight out, but almost all the restaurants and food court closes/stop serving food at 21:00H. The only choices left open are Starbucks or the convenience store, but be aware that you won't be able to get your usual instant meals from convenience store. Another customer was enquiring about hot water for the instant noodles, and he was told that no eating allowed, citing "airport policy".

All the boutiques and souvenirs shops close by 21:30H, so there is not much you can do before you board the plane, except for sitting down to watch your fingernails grow longer.

I would have expected that a top-ranking airport like Incheon would have thought of the needs of their late night passengers, and extended the opening hours of the F&B and shopping. And if F&B can't extend their operating hours, what kind of "airport policy" are they doing to stop the convenience store to serving hot meals? They expect passengers to start bringing their own food?

If the airport does not have the soft infrastructure to support passengers' basic needs of food beyond 21:00H, then please do not schedule such late flights out and let your passengers starve.

Other than that, some good notes about the airport: Airport is spacious and clean, with lots of area to sit down. There are water coolers everywhere, but we couldn't find a hot water dispenser, unlike the Gimpo airport. So those traveling with babies or elderly in need of prepping some warm water, please take note. Toilets are clean, there are ample English signages everywhere, impossible to get lost.

The tax refund process is straightforward and not rocket science.

  1. Tax refund amounts for products less than KRW75,000: you can just scan the receipts without verifying the products with the customs officer. So these items can be inside the checked-in bags.
  2. For those claiming for tax refund of more KRW75,000, you will need to show them the goods before you check-in your bags with the airlines counter. The tax machine will indicate which are the items that needs to be checked, so you can choose to either hand-carry them, or leave them inside checked luggage: 2a) If your goods are inside your check-in bag, please show the officer at the customs counter before departure gate, with the luggage tag already attached to your check-in bag. The customs will inspect the goods, and you can pack them back into your check-in bag, and the luggage will be checked-in from the customs counter. They will stamp on your receipts, and you can proceed into departure area with your receipts for the claims.

2b) If your goods are inside your hand-carry, just proceed into departure area and show the customs officer the goods, they will verify and stamp on your receipts, and you can proceed to...

Had the worst experience of customer service here at 7 Eleven, Terminal 2 of Incheon Airport. They sell, instant food like burgers, sandwiches, pasta, hotdogs etc. Good variety of food available. There were a few microwave ovens to heat up food and 2 huge tables which we assumed were as per Korean culture for customers to eat. There was a very nasty gentleman who came and told us loudly NO EATING HERE. No smile, no sorry just a very angry face. And he glared at us telling us another 2 times the same words. We were shocked, ask where can we eat then. He told us angrily downstairs. The look he gave us was so humiliating lile we should know and honestly the worst anyone can experience. He should know that it can be anyone's 1st visit and will not be familiar with whatever routine he knew about. Terrible representation of the country's standard of service. It is ridiculous to sell hot instant food with big tables and they close of the section because of inconvenience to them? Whatever the reason, there was just no excuse on the nastiness. He rest of our experience in Seoul was so beautiful until we met this man. He was on duty 6 December...

I had to wait 24 hours for my connecting flight from roughly 17h00 to 17h00. Lots of confortable benches to sleep on and pretty quite. Clean as a whistle. There is a Starbuck and a 7-Eleven open 24 hours. Lots of plug-in for recharging even wireless charging pads. No USB-C. You need the regular USB or 2 prongs. It did work perfect for me. I confirm this review is...

Going to starve to death. food court IS UNDER CONSTRUCTION. other food shops are all closed and its 21:00. How can you open a terminal with ALL CLOSED???? Do they expect tourists to die a hungry death??? On the other hand all luxury boutiques ARE OPEN. Should I choke on a Bottega leather purse instead of eating my sandwich? Very disappointing for an international terminal.
