Review: Shinsegae Department Store – B1 Dessert Floor

This review is for the dessert section located on the B1 floor of Shinsegae Department Store. One thing Shinsegae consistently does well is creating a luxurious, visually inviting atmosphere—and this dessert area is no exception. It’s beautifully curated and definitely photo-worthy.

That said, the downside is the service, which often feels indifferent or even slightly arrogant. And the prices? Frankly, hard to justify. For example, a single cracker cream sandwich goes for 4,000 won—something I wouldn’t consider worth it. A tiny cake priced at 70,000 won borders on absurd unless it offers a once-in-a-lifetime flavor experience—which, in my case, it didn’t.

Seoul is full of excellent dessert spots that offer better value and friendlier service. Unless you’re specifically coming for the ambience or the bragging rights of a “been there, done that” visit, I wouldn’t rush back. You’re paying for the packaging,...

Idk if it’s just me, I got lost searching for exit. I’m grateful the security show me the way out when he saw me lost in the parking lots. There’s a katsu restaurant with big portions here, it’s quite good. I think there are too many staffs so it’s hard for me to shop because I prefer quiet shopping. I saw many staffs just standing aimlessly because there are not enough customer to serve. It’s easy to find what I need for gifting. There are tennis and golfwear brands per floor, the tools and clothes are very cute for yourself or for gifts. The ground floors are all luxury brands, and I love how they also separate brands for women, men, kids, and furnitures in...

I recently purchased Kokozi products for my friends' kids, and I am thoroughly impressed! The content is very educational and features adorable figures that significantly aid in children's cognitive development. The service personnel were incredibly knowledgeable about Kokozi and took the time to help me understand each IP's content. They explained that the products include both Korean and English content, which adds to their educational value. Overall, it was a fantastic experience, and I highly recommend Kokozi for anyone looking for high-quality, engaging educational products...

During my recent visit to the food court at Shinsegae Gangnam, I noticed that the ambiance exuded a distinctive European feel. The array of desserts on display was awe-inspiring. However, the food court was exceptionally crowded. Despite my efforts, I could not purchase anything due to the long lines and lack of available seating in the adjacent cafes, even though it was well before lunchtime on a weekday. I plan to revisit at a less busy time to experience the offerings without the constraints of the current congestion.
