It really wonderful walking inside the temple but make sure not wearing a short here( there are mosquito make sure get a mosquito's spray). The temple LUNCH is available it cost 1000₩ you can purchase at the gifts shop they will gave you a small plastic card at 12pm you will drop the card at canteen. The temple food is vegetarian today is Bibimbap with fruit, rice cake, battered vegetables and soup. The temple style which is put all food in one bowl the food taste ok the seaweed soup is very plain, not allow to talk here. After finish your lunch you have to wash the dish. LUNCH time is 12:00-12:50 pm. some special exhibition of temple they give away lunch. The CAFE was really good shouldn't miss, the price is so cheap but good quality, iced Americano is good and omija tea was excellent. You will find this temple on the way to the Korean Furniture Museum, one of the popular tourist sites. But this is not the place you should just pass by.

When I visited the place was a month before Buddha’s birthday, so there were many lanterns hanging. The colorful lanterns are for us, living people while the white ones are for the deceased ones.

The fun fact about this temple is that this place used to be Yojung, the place where powerful and rich people used to hang around with Kiseng (Korean Geisha) up until late 1980s. The owner of the place later turned this place around and donated it to a Buddhism leader.

You should cover yourself if you are wearing a short pant or skirt. They provide some kind of blanket that...

One of the famous temples of Seoul that you should visit. Beautiful landscape, surrounded by nature in hills of Seongbuk-dong, a neighborhood of Seoul. One of the most enjoyable ways to experience the beauty here is walk the complex grounds, hear the sonorous temple bell and see the ancient architectures. Quiet and relaxed.

Directions : Handing University Station (Subway Line 4), Exit 6. Take a Bus No 1111, 2112 or village bus Seongbuk 02...

The Gilsangsa Temple is one of the oldest temples in Korea. This place is very calm and beautiful. I visited this temple with my parents and had time to pray together. Although you took a bus to get here, it was easy to get here and had a nice time with my family. Look at the beautiful pictures of this temple 💕 They have Temple States event regularly.
