Maipés de Agaete Archaeological Park is one of the most impressive and moving historical sites in Gran Canaria. La necropolis de Maipes is an archaeological park located in the northwest of Gran Canaria in the town of Agaete. There is a parking lot nearby. The entrance fee is 3 euros, and tickets are also valid for the Necropolis of Artear, Canada de lo Gatos and Cenobio de Valeron. The employees are very kind and accommodating. A beautifully landscaped path has been created that leads to the archaeological museum where you can see sections of the tombs and imagine what they look like from the inside. Its a short but fun and educational experience. If you go during the day around 13:00 - 17:00 it can be quite hot with the sun. Make sure to bring water and sunscreen. Its also very windy so if you wear a hat, make sure its secured 😂
