Unforgettable Paragliding Experience in Algodonales with Paragliding Guide!
We’ve just returned from an unforgettable trip with Paragliding Guide in Algodonales, and we’re already planning our return next year. Nick and his team were outstanding from start to finish—professional, passionate, and genuinely invested in making the experience exceptional for every pilot in our group.
We came as a group of friends from overseas with varying levels of paragliding experience, including relative beginners and intermediate pilots. Nick and his team took the time to understand each of our skill levels and tailor the experience accordingly. Their guidance allowed everyone to progress, feel supported, and fly with confidence. We also had the chance to team-fly with other experienced pilots, making new friends along the way on some ambitious XC routes—where coordination and mutual support really made the difference.
One of the biggest highlights was Alan—a former competition pilot and an absolute wizard when it comes to XC strategy. I’m pretty sure that when the god wakes up in the morning, he's checking with Alan to learn what the weather is going to be. His weather briefings were spot-on, giving us the confidence to pursue ambitious routes and capitalize on the day’s conditions. Thanks to his guidance, I was able to fly a personal-best triangle, and both my flying partner and I managed to log flights that landed in the top 10 of the XC contest (EN-B category, worldwide) during the trip. We fly mostly for fun, so this was a huge and unexpected bonus!
The flying terrain around Algodonales is just as incredible. With ample landing options and beautiful landscapes, we felt free to explore and push our limits. We soared over ancient castles, landed in charming villages, and even cooled off with a swim in a lake after a long, hot flight day. It’s hard to overstate how much variety and opportunity this region offers to XC pilots.
The fun didn’t stop in the landing zone. Our accommodations were excellent, and the post-flying social time was just as memorable. We enjoyed great meals, relaxed in the town center, and shared plenty of laughs—largely thanks to Nick’s sharp wit and easygoing personality. He struck the perfect balance of keeping things light while ensuring we were always learning and growing as pilots.
In short, this was one of the best paragliding trips we’ve ever taken. I’m sure there are other good guides in the region, but from what we saw on the hill, Paragliding Guide stood out as truly exceptional. If you’re considering a trip to Algodonales, book with confidence—you’ll be in...
Read moreI have just spent a fantastic week with Nick and his team, Alan and Jorge, at Paragliding guide and I must say it was the best training I’ve ever had. Nick is totally and utterly plugged into the needs of the customer and tailors the day specifically for your capabilities whether it’s 60km cross country to Rhonda or whether it’s getting from the top of the bottom to just get back onto the horse and get one’s confidence back. Nick is so patient very very caring very safe and is a fantastic instructor. I would strongly recommend paragliding guide if anybody wanted to enhance the skill set soaring, thermalling, Top landing whatever it is Nick has the time he also works very closely with you mentally as the customer to make sure that you are feeling good. Everything is working as you might want it to work and it gets very plugged into your emotional state so you go on this journey of improvement together. An outstanding week and I look forward to coming back many many times over the following years and improving my capabilities and One day who knows I might be able to fly to Rhonda and back without landing which would be...
Read moreI had a first week with Paragliding Guide in April 2025. I turned out to be the only first-timer in the XC group and it was rapidly clear why that was. Nick and Alan really makes all they can to make your stay as pleasant, fun, flyable and safe as ever possible. The ambience is not flight school but friends doing this together. Barely back home I booked 10 days in November. That also makes them stand out, total flexibility in dates making it possible to come and go when you want rather than fixed weeks (allowing for maximising holidays, finding the cheaper flight dates etc.). Algodonales is a very friendly, sleepy, little village where the paragliding community is appreciate and well integrated. Food is good and cheap and when the weather does not allow for flying the area offers several sightseeing spots well worth visiting. And yes, even if the weather wasn't on my side in April (just 2 excellent days) it did change my way of flying... and reading the weather...
