We arrived and parked up in the plentiful close car park (free). Tickets were purchased from the machine and we joined the queue. After about 20 mins wait(11:30am) we got in the cable car. They were pretty free with the flow and allowed any combinations of people. Max is 4 per car and being a family of five we went 2 & 3. They did not make anyone combine with strangers. The journey up was pretty smooth and despite being slightly nervous the journey was absolutely fine. We stopped one time on the way up but restart was within seconds and a slow gentle start. The car itself had a speaker with a commentary (French Spanish and English options). We saw people with push chairs boarding pretty easily and a child in a wheel chair (the child was able to walk into the car). As we arrived at the top we disembarked and headed right for the cafe which is directly next to the station. The food was decent and incredibly well priced. We had a pizza and a drink for €13. There are a few well concreted paths with railings keeping you to the path (definitely not wheelchair passable). We did not partake in the bird show which was an extra charge (although €7 seemed pretty reasonable to me). After a few hours exploring we headed down. No waiting to depart (around 3pm) and the journey was once again smooth. Wind was gentle and there was a tiny bit of sway so I can imagine this would be pretty scary in slightly windy conditions. They don’t run over unspecified wind levels. All in all a lovely day and we had great weather. Even though it was cold upon. Arrival it warmed up. It’s pretty exposed up there...
Read moreI have awarded three stars because of the friendliness of the staff we encountered and the enjoyable ride up and down Monte Calamorro. It could easily have been fewer stars because of the lack of necessary information on the website. I ignored the advice of some previous reviewers and purchased tickets online only to arrive at the teleferico less than one hour later to find that it was not running because of strong winds at the top. Surely there should be a notice posted on the website to inform people when the service is not operating so that they do not make an unnecessary journey? There is no information on the website about how to obtain a refund and on asking at the ticket office I was given an email address to contact. The reply to the email I sent did not explain how to get a refund but simply informed me that I could use the tickets on a different day – all very well for people like me who did have another day available but no good for anyone who didn’t. Having queued for over 30 minutes I reached the front of the queue only to be told that I needed to go to the ticket office because my tickets were for a different day – there is nothing about needing to do this on the website. In the light of my experience I can only reiterate what some other reviewers have said and suggest that you DO NOT BUY TICKETS ONLINE until you can see that the teleferico is...
Read moreBought the €36 Selwo Pack online for the cable cars, marina & adventura parks, NOTE: You must visit cable cars 1st. Beware, even though youve bought online, you will still need to queue when you goto the cable cars in order the exchange your online voucher for a physical ticket. The lady was a bit twisty saying i had to print it off, IF THATS THE CASE, SAY SO ONLINE! Its not like i packed my printer into my case you know! Nor did i save any money or time whatsoever by buying in advance, i still had to queue! Its 9th Oct, seasons ending, was still quite busy and they only had 1 cashier working so it made the queue unnecessarily long. One of the female staff stomped off in a huff when people challenged her about opening up another desk🤣 Anyways, the views are great, worth the trip, and the bird show was also brilliant. Well worth going, just take your own food & drink though. It can work out expensive for a family if you have to eat there. If youre driving, parking is just opposite and only €1, there should be an official guy there with a ticket stub...
