Es un yacimiento que estaba tapado por las dunas, por lo que se ha conservado muy bien. Se dice que lo descubrió el ingeniero de montes Mina al estar trabajando en las dunas de Guardamar para que la arena no se tragara el pueblo y de ahí, la hermosa pinada que sujeta las arenas. A veces hacen visitas teatralizada y condultar los horarios, pues cambian de verano a invierno. El yacimiento es espectacular, se ven las celdas perfectamente.
