Museo Guanche — Attraction in Icod de los Vinos

Interesting museum to visit and get to know a bit more about history of Tenerife. At the entrance you are offered a pair of headphones and an audio guide (you can choose a language). This tour shows and tells you about folks who had lived here before Spanish. I’m not a big fan of history though this tour was interesting to get to know how things had been going here...

Perhaps I'm not interested in history enough... But nice stories you listen to in your chosen language and at your own pace. A bit dark inside so in some places it's hard to see all the figures. Still, it's a good presentation of how places would look back then. I wouldn't go again and don't recommend it to my adolescent daughter. But...

Small museum that will teach you some basics about the live of Tenerife's indigenous population. The exhibition stops suddenly at the topic of their extinction. No word about how the spanyards colonized the Guanche population and how they tried to form resistance. Very colonial...
