A beautiful small park with tropical butterflies flying freely among the visitors. Very nice staff, the girl in the garden explained everything to us, she even put a butterfly on my daughter's hand. She was very nice to the children, even to those who wanted to catch the butterflies at all costs. I don't understand parents who come into a butterfly house where these fragile creatures are flying freely, often sitting on the ground, and not paying attention to their children... There was an explanation about the butterfly life cycle, we also learned a lot from it, but I saw others who weren't even paying attention. We really enjoyed the visit and appreciated the fact that everything was explained to us thoroughly and all the children's questions were answered patiently and kindly. Downstairs we learned a lot of interesting facts about other butterflies and my daughter really enjoyed the documentary. I would definitely recommend it, even with children, but I would advise parents not to leave their children unsupervised, lest they harm these beautiful but fragile creatures. I read the comments before the visit, some people said they only spent 10-30 minutes in the park and that they didn't like it, well we were in there for nearly two hours, we enjoyed it so much, learned a lot, my daughter didn't want to leave. She also loved the...

Mariposario del Drago – A Magical Place You Must Visit!

Mariposario del Drago is a true gem in the heart of Tenerife! It is home to dozens of species of exotic butterflies that fly freely in a beautifully designed tropical garden. As soon as you step inside, you’ll be surrounded by tranquility, vibrant colors, and a sense of magic.

The place is not only visually stunning but also educational. The staff are incredibly friendly and happy to share fascinating and inspiring facts about the life cycle of butterflies and their importance to nature.

For nature lovers and photography enthusiasts, this is paradise – you’ll have the chance to observe butterflies up close as they land on flowers or even on you! The garden is also filled with exotic plants that enhance the enchanting atmosphere.

Mariposario del Drago is located near the iconic Drago Milenario, making it a perfect stop for an unforgettable day in the area.

I highly recommend this place to everyone – children, families, and anyone looking for a unique experience in Tenerife. Don’t miss the chance to visit this little piece of...

The Mariposario del Drago Butterfly Park was a complete disappointment. They charge an exorbitant entrance fee for what turned out to be just a single cramped room packed with crowds of people. The experience was far from the serene butterfly viewing I had anticipated.

What was particularly upsetting was their lack of consideration for disabled visitors. Despite having someone with a disability in our group, they refused to offer any discount, forcing them to pay the full price. This seemed incredibly insensitive and showed a lack of accessibility awareness.

The overcrowding made it nearly impossible to enjoy the butterflies or take decent photos. We spent more time trying to navigate through the masses of people than actually observing the main attraction.

For the high price they charge, I expected much more - perhaps multiple viewing areas, educational information, or at least some basic accommodation for visitors with disabilities.

I cannot recommend this place to anyone. Save your money and time for one of the many better attractions...

In the Mariposario del Drago, you'll get the inmersive experience of finding yourself surrounded by butterflies of several makes and sizes, from ground to the sky (within the confined limits of the zoo's glass walls and ceiling). Even better, you'll loose track of time in pursuing the perfect photo of that butterfly here and that one there, and the one that you'll surely see afterwards, while hoping for the one that will decide to land on you, to your own delight and the frustration of those surrounding you. Nice little zoo for all but, especially, one to visit if you have kids. You may find the price a bit steep, but shall forget it by the opportunity of entering a fairytale-like environment. Next door to the Millenary Dragon Tree (Drago Milenario), and some 100 metres from Banana House (Casa del PlĂĄtano), you'll find the Mariposario to be a worthwhile detour.

This is a wonderful place! The staff is kind and well informing you about the basic rules before entering. Very nicely arranged and maintained interior, beautiful flowers and butterflies which you can observe in their pupa stage as well. If you are brave enough the staff can put a night butterfly on your hands to see them even closer. The absolute show stealers were the parrots in there, which was a very pleasant surprise as they are not mentioned on the website. There was a very-very friendly Cockatiel there who flies on the shoulders of men only, and we could even pet her. Strongly recommend this place!
