hours on site we're wrong. we came 10 minutes past last cable. and we were hiking near the cable area, we thought we have an extra hour so we took our time.. eventually we missed it for 10 minutes. also there we're still people at the top so a few cable cars went up to get them. we plead the manager to let us go for a peek (this was supposed to be the high-light of our day) but he refused. we really begged, on our knees literally just to go up with the cable bringing people down, not even to go out the cart, for double the price but nothing. just nothing. this left a bad taste for our entire day. double check hours on the...

The cable car is not a good experience. You can see very little from it, the cabins are overfilled. It is extremely expensive. The website says it takes 8mins but it is more like 2.5. Unfortunately the paths at the top were closed the day we went, they had a sign saying this but what we did not realise as they did not say is that this means you get to see absolutely nothing more than from the bottom station. Definitely worth a ride if you plan on visiting Teide, though considering the crowds and lines, we found our time was better used hiking around the park. You can avoid a longer line if you purchase your ticket online in advance, but you'll still have to wait in line to get on the ride itself.
