Roques de García — Attraction in La Orotava

This is a must-see while in Tenerife. The entire island of Tenerife is incredibly beautiful, full of amazing viewpoints. On the road to the Roques de Garcia, you will find yourself stopping to enjoy amazing locations for some pictures and stunning views. I highly recommend visiting Roques de Garcia.

Let me tell you about our experience. First attempt to see Roques de Garcia. We set off around 1PM in no rush. Very nice drive to the location and lots to see. Additionally, there are dedicated stops and a few spots to park your car. Very good experience up until we got to the Roques. Unfortunately, we arrived quite late in the afternoon, and it was absolutely packed and impossible to park. Hundreds of people. We turned around and went back to the hotel.

Second attempt next morning. We set off before the sunrise! We did not stop anywhere and got to the spot around 6 am in the morning. Car park was empty plenty space to park. No one around. We had all the Roques de Garcia to ourselves. We have taken plenty of amazing pictures and got to enjoy gorgeous sunrise.

A beautiful place with views of Teide. We were hoping to do the hike but half way through, the path was blocked, something to do with hunting mouflon and a sign saying the path is closed on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. It would be good to know this information when entering the park so we could choose a different hike. The views were still amazing and I'm glad we visited. E’ il punto panoramico più frequentato dai turisti anche perché è il più facile da raggiungere e comodo per il parcheggio. Il punto panoramico riserva vedute fantastiche sulla Caldera de Las Canadas, cioè quell’esteso bacino apparentemente piatto circondato da alte montagne con diverse e a volte curiose formazioni rocciose, pinnacoli, ecc. Questo punto panoramico porta il nome di La Catedral che, probabilmente, deriva dalle splendide formazioni rocciose visibili da questo punto, rocce che lavorate dall’erosione e dal vento, che hanno assunto la forma di guglie che ricordano in qualche modo quelle delle cattedrali gotiche, un vero spettacolo della natura.
