Absolutely a great hike. The landscape is stunning, and the views of Teide are spectacular. Do bring plenty of water however- even in the morning when it's cool, the dry, high elevation is very dehydrating.

The difficulty of the hike is sort of dependent upon which direction you start. If you start your hike clockwise, you'll descend the steepest portion immediately. The trail will take you to the bottom of the "valley" (lava flow) and as you continue, you'll slowly climb back to the original elevation and mostly stay at that all the way back. If you opt to start counterclockwise, it's a super easy, flat hike until you slowly descend. Then you have a pretty short but substantially steeper hike back up to the car park.

As others have said, parking can be challenging. If you're here early it's easy, but late morning into afternoon and it gets very busy. It appears that they are expanding the car park, but I think it's just to add more space for busses.

This is a wonderful hike in a beautiful setting. We definitely...

We did the Sendero Roques de Garcia hike, and it was a really easy and enjoyable walk, even for kids. The trail is a loop, which makes it super convenient. If you're planning to go, I recommend heading out early—before 10 a.m.—or after 4 p.m. to avoid the midday sun and heat. We went around noon, and it was pretty crowded, so keep that in mind.

Definitely don't wear flip-flops for this hike! At least go with running sneakers, if not proper hiking shoes. The views along the trail are really nice, and it took us about 1 hour and 30 minutes to complete the loop. That included walking from the car, taking photos, and stopping along the way.

Overall, it's a great short activity if you don’t have a lot of time or if you want to pair it with a cable car ride to the top of Mount Teide....

We took this 2-3 hour circular trail instead of going up the mountain with the cable car and felt it was the best decision! The views are amazing, so out of this world! You almost feel like you’re in a western movie! Although we dressed up for what we thought was going to be cold it proved to be warmer than expected although i would highly recommend packing some warm clothes - better to be safe than sorry! The route is easy however I would not recommend it for people aged under 8 and over 65, although you can just walk for half an hour and return just so that you get a...
