The route isn't always clear. In the beginning I was really confused which way to go. I'm not too good on my feet, so I took a bike with me and even went through a little village. Only when I passed los Roques (which was undoable with my bike) I knew I was on the right track. Some people told me the whole route was undoable with a bike, but I'm so very glad that I took it with me. Yes, some parts in the mountains were a challenge with the bike, but some parts I was extremely grateful for the bike. I would've never been able to complete the route with just my own two feet. I got blisters all over, despite taking the bike. Read moreDefinitely better at the western end of the walk (Mirador de San Pedro), where you are in a lush tropical environment and the path is good. It gets scruffier and less interesting at the other end and a whole section before you reach the Hotel Maritim is officially blocked off - however this doesn't seem to deter anyone from circumventing the barriers and continuing regardless. Be warned there are no obvious refreshment stops en route; you can get something at either end - the Mirador de San Pedro restaurant or one of the beach bars on Playa Jardin.
