La Tostada Mexicana — Restaurant in Los Realejos

I really want this place to be successful as I love Mexican food, but unfortunately I was quite disappointed. As other people have mentioned, it's very expensive. In places all over Spain you pay €1-2 for a very good taco. At €4 a taco (and you need 3-4 if you're hungry) it works out to be a very expensive meal, especially for Los Realejos. Secondly, they don't make a classic margarita (lemon/lime)—only strawberry or mango with sugar. I've never been to a Mexican restaurant that can't make a margarita. Thirdly, the English menu is completely illegible (even the word 'menu' is spelt wrong - 'nenu').

However, the service was great and the food is tasty. But at those prices it just won't become a regular for us.

When we were living in Santa Cruz we would eat at Taquería La Santa, which always has queues outside, at least twice a week (tacos are €1-2 and delicious), so I was hoping for something more like this.

Unfortunately we were disappointed with our meal here. We had a few issues with our order, because we ordered a couple of things with no cheese, but they were brought to us with cheese, so had to be sent back, we ordered a vegetarian burrito which should come with black beans but it didn't have any in it, and with just the plain veggies, i personally found it quite bland. We ordered nachos with guacamole and cheese on the side, but the cheese on the side never came. It would be great if they included a spicy sauce or used cilantro, typically mexican. my parner suggested it when he paid the bill but was told that they forgot. I don't want to offend the owners or the staff, I have seen on here that they respond quite harshly to criticism but i think its things that they can learn from. The atmosphere is really lovely, it's spacious and decorated...

Hace un tiempo vimos sobre este megicano por las redes y quisimos darle una oportunidad. Nada mas entrar el lugar me parecio muy bonito por su sencillez y la chica que mos atendio, muy amable. La carta, algunos platos estaban bien de precios, otros la verdad edtaban por las nubes, aun siendo "productos de calidad" sacando el escandallo son precios carisimos. Finalmente decidimos pedirnos unos tacos de carne picada, cerdo y pastor, los de carne segun el criterio de mi marido estaban buenos, los mios sinceramente la carne estaba totalmente reseca y sin sabor alguno, la presentacion estaba bien pero con mucho guacamole, yo lo pondria aparte, algunos clientes no nos gusta tanta salsa por lo que dejaria que el cliente se la pusiese al gusto. Tambien pedimos una tosta de "langostino" (para mi era gamba), que aqui si digo que estaba muy rica en sabor y fue lo unico que rralmemte digo valio la pena. Para beber pedimos un margarita, lo que nos trajeron fue agua mezclada con fresa molida sin sabor alguno a margarita que ya estaba prepara en una jarra en la barra y carisima para lo que es.... Cuando fuimos a pagar en la barra se ve la cocina y vimos al cocinero que tocando todos los productos con las propias manos (ATRAS QUEDA LA PREPARACION CON GUANTES Y PINZAS POR HIGIENE) nos dan la factura y vemos que los precios no coinciden indicandonos que ellos cobran el IGIC aparte. Esto es totalmemte ilegal segun ley 24/2006 donde se indica que en la carta los precios deben contemplar el precio final con IMPUESTOS incluidos si no estais engañando. Pero ya visto lo visto pagamos y nos largamos En resumen Lugar bonito y acogedor Servicio amable y atento Higiene en cocina 0 Calidad del producto muy mejorable Precios dentro de lo normal excepto algunos Recomendacion tosta de gamba Repetiriamos? La verdad dariamos prioridad a otras opciones de mexicano antes de volver. Y siento si molesta mi reseña pero si a veces el cliente no es claro y solo se pone el lado bueno, el empresario no mejora y sigue incurrriendo en los mismos errores. Y como consejo es preferible poner un taco a 4,50€ que 4€ y poner la ilegalidad del IGICy llevarse 4 euros de...
