Português and English review
Very good option for the family, but try to ensure you get a coupon discount as you can get up to 40% discount.
My family and I had a very good time at Parque de Atracciones in Madrid, it was a low season, the weather was outstanding, and there was no line whatsoever so it was like the park was ours. It was not cheap if you don't have the discount coupon, my wife, myself and my 9 years old son paid EU 97.00, but we could have paid around EU 60.00 with the coupons.
Overall I think the park is very well maintained, the attractions and rides are new and exciting and the prices of refreshment and food are not exploratory as you see at Disney parks for instance.
The only caveat that I strongly recommend, so that you don't make the same mistake as we did, is to ask for discount coupons at tourist information booths, or better yet, visit the Zoo and Aquarium the day before and ask for the coupons because some of the staff don't offer you if you don't ask for.
Access - the other thing I strong recommend is for you to go to the park using the cable car, amazing view and 10 min walk from the end point to the park.
Read moreWhat could have been one of the best locations for an Amusement Park in Europe.... really becomes a nightmare for any unprepared innocent visitor. The park has a very basic amount of rides, among only few are coasters. However, they have one of THE WORST operations in a theme park that you will ever find in Europe. Most of the rides are closed "due technical reasons" WHICH MEANS "we don't want to pay the ride operator so we close it". There is an obnoxious policy of dispatching trains fully loaded (again, for "technical reasons" aka "saving money by not dispatching trains half loaded") which will make you wait desperately in the queue while you see how the Express ticket visitors get all the attention. Groups of people JUMPING THE LINE in front of you with the approval of the ride operator. That park is a jungle without law. You can find these 2 scenarios: the park is full and you have to wait ages to get to the train (because they don't even know how to operate a coaster properly) or either the park is empty and you have to wait ages until someone gets into the ride. I would like to point that the food and beverages in this park, as well as all other Parques Reunidos parks, is disgusting and one of the worst you can ever have. Expect something bad and expensive. You better bring your own food from home and try to spend the minimum as possible. I also have to remind that all the parks in Madrid area are from the same owner Parques Reunidos. This monopoly is really affecting the service to visitor, and the company can do whatever they want as they have no other competitors. You better choose a different park or you will be disappointed. They don't deserve you. Parque Warner (in comparison with this one) is a much worthy option, besides being another Parques Reunidos...
Read moreHorrible amusement park, I wouldn't recommend it to anyone.
Extremely long queues. Not because it was overcrowded, but because the operations are so slow. With a few small improvements and a few more staff, the waiting times could easily have been halved, but they did everything as slowly and inefficiently as possible. In addition, most of the rides weren't running at maximum capacity and many seats were empty, even with waits of 1-2 hours. Queue-jumping and bad behaviour by guests is totally tolerated. Even if it happens in front of staff, they just don't care. Many attractions closed Unfriendly and unmotivated staff who need to be better trained. We bought a speedy pass to skip the queue and went to Abismo. The employee scanned the QR code, and it was successful. Then he immediately scanned it again for no reason, the second time showing that it had already been scanned. Then he sent us away, falsely and unfriendly claiming that we had already used it. At least the guest service was friendly, apologized for the employee and solved the problem, but this should not happen. The queues closed much earlier than advertised. 1 hour before the park closed there was almost nothing to do, even though the app said the queues would close 30 minutes before the park closed. Short opening times in terms of waiting times The park is in a very dilapidated state. There have been no new attractions for years, many things could use a new coat of paint, some of the card payments were broken.
Good metro connection to Madrid, so you can leave the park to eat somewhere else where it is much cheaper.
The park hasn't improved at all since my last visit a couple of years ago. If you don't want to have a stressful and annoying day, I would definitely not...
