Juca — Restaurant in Madrid

This has been my morning stop for the duration of my two weeks in Spain. It is a community-based bar/cafe in the Batan neughborhood with a staircase to the inmense Casa De Campo park 20 meters up the street They serve simple but delicious food, excellent cafe con leche all to the tune of a bustling neighborhood cacophony. After only a couple of days, I became part of their community, welcomed by them individually each time I came and efficiently attended to. I was particularly grateful one morning that I got there shivering with cold, and one of the owners grabbed a stool and placed it directly under a heater vent for me. I did stop in the afternoon one time and had a caña, a small glass of beer, with tapas. I have seen and done many wonderful things while in Madrid, but i will miss my mornings at Bar Juca and chats with Ester the most! Thank you all for making my stay so enjoyable!

PS: they are closed on Tuesdays. The rest of the week they close quite late but the kitchen closes at 4:00. From 4:00 on, you can get a pastry or Spanish tortilla to have with your...

Hoy acompañé como muchos lunes a mi padre de 95 años a tomar el aperitivo , quien intuyo que es el dueño le reprendió por tirar al suelo para no atragantarse, un huesecillo minúsculo del pollo que sirvieron de aperitivo. Mi padre que lleva acudiendo solo muchos años presenta un estado muy avanzado de demencia y este individuo le reprendió ante todos los presentes. Le dije, yo si, en privado que desde luego no se debe tirar nada al suelo pero le rogué empatía y algo de bondad. Nos avisó ya en la calle que no nos dejaría volver a entrar. Este personaje es quien gestiona negocio, empleados y clientes ? Que a nadie le pase nada…No estuve rápida y no pedí la hoja de reclamaciones , pero siempre estoy a tiempo. Lamentable...

Bar de toda la vida. Los precios son normales. El menú está bien a secas, nada del otro mundo la verdad. El servicio es muy amable. Tiene terraza, aunque se ha visto reducida debido a las restricciones por la COVID. Su punto fuerte sin lugar a dudas son los aperitivos, sobre todo los sábados y domingos, donde el ambiente es maravilloso (ahora menos por las restricciones). Sin duda el mejor bar de la zona para aperitivos. Los fines de semana sirven patatas revolconas, picadillo, pollo al ajillo, paella,...
