A real find. A short but steep walk up from the almost deserted car park led us to the church square with some amazing views. On a bright sunny early autumn afternoon, I really wished that I had my camera and not just my phone. The church was well worth the €2 each entrance fee, so typically Spanish in decor with beautifully dressed statues of the Virgin Mary and other Catholic saints. We were the only visitors so had plenty of time to look and admire. We paid to go up to the castle but decided against the steep climb and spent half an hour in the Granary museum ( La Cilla). The very helpful lady in the ticket office lent us a book with perfect English translations of all the explanations of the exhibits, very welcome. I'm sure that if I had had the energy to complete the visit to the castle ramparts, this would be a 5 star review.

The town and the castle are beautiful. There were lots of parking spots to park your car. It takes about 10 mins to walk from the parking spot to the castle. The views from the top of the castle were spectacular. There is also a church across the castle. Both the church and the castle have separate tickets - 2 euros per person. You can skip the church. There is also a small garden in the city which is nice. They had some birds in cages (which is sad) and different tropical plants. It's a nice small town to walk around.

A great place to visit...€2 entry payable at the Tourist Information Office... then just go & explore the Moorish medieval castle build on & around the rock. Strategic place with amazing views of the countryside in all directions. Some very narrow spiral steps at the top which take you to the very top turret... well worth the effort to get there. Not wheelchair or walking disability friendly but one has to remember it was built in the 1200s & it was built as a fort/castle that saw military action.

Now among my favorite castles of Spain. Not so crowded as those in Málaga. Large and developed enough to allow some exploration. Yet not so large as to wear your family out. Good brief simplified history helping to realize what a perilous era of history. Man’s inhumanity to man. The ancient prophet’s words ring in my ears, “We all like sheep have gone astray and behold, the Self-Eternal has laid upon *him* the iniquity of us all”! Well worth the price of admission.

One of the 'must visit' Pueblos Blancos. Very cute town with a beautiful church. Walking up to the castle is not meant or the faint-hearted or people with vertigo. However, once there, the views are breathtaking. The views tale you across three provinces of Spain. It has one of the best preserved moorish fortresses, built in the 12th century which was later rebuilt into the castle we see today. Definitely worth a stop
