Black volcanic beach just by the caves. The waves and currents are usually big and strong, so consider swimming twice, if You're less experienced in water. Lots of restaurants around the beach and also public showers and toilets available. Short 15-25 minutes walk to the caves. Public parking is outside of town, where the main road ends, but still just about 200 meters away...

¡Totalmente...

Nice place, though during the pandemic the restaurants were not really welcoming. In the restaurant (located more upper to the parking) we were even turned away very rudely because we didn't have a cert. We were also not allowed to sit outside with our one year-old daughter. Certainly not worth a second try with these...

Love the rustic feel of Ajuy which is more like a fishing village with its black sand, rough waves and a few boats. The main draw is the cliff walk around to the caves which is well worth it as the views down to the ocean are superb. The beach itself is not really suitable for swimming so beware. Only a couple of cafes in the village.

Black sand beach that is hot to step on, rough waves and strong waters that are only suitable for extremely good swimmers and anyone who dares. Close proximity to Ajuy caves and you can have a nice hike there. Black sand beach was a first time for me so it’s quite unique and I give it a 4 stars.
