Just spent a lovely morning visiting the Bodega Olivia. Please visit this place do not be put off by the initial appearance. When you arrive there is plenty of space to park outside. Just next to the Cactus Garden. The sign above the door shows the entrance, provided you have booked for €30 each you will be met by Jorge pronounced as Horhay but he is happy with George. His enthusiasm and love for his wines is infectious and although, as he continues to remind you, he only has a small parcel of land to cultivate he does it with so much commitment that you have to admire his effort. He will transport you up into the hills to show you his vines and explain how they try to protect them from the rabbits that terrorise the wine growers, he apologised for his perceived lack of English but he managed to communicate effectively with us and Google translate came to our rescue when needed. After the trip went back to the bodega where we tested five of his wines. Each one a unique tasting experience. He shared wines that he had in stock and those that he hoped to market in the future and all of them had their own individual character. We also sampled Lanzarote cheese and the remarkable cactus jam. We really enjoyed our visit to share this man’s dream and we wish him every success for the future. This is not a big corporation it’s one young man and his father following family tradition and looking forward to establishing a great...

We got to chat one-on-one with the owner, who welcomed us with a delicious cheese and bread platter 😋. Then he took us in his truck to the vineyards where his great-grandparents used to grow grapes that were once sent to Tenerife for processing. Now he makes his own wine right here in Lanzarote — small batches, made with so much passion and care. His dream is to reach the American market one day, but for now, it’s super exclusive — only a few bottles are produced each year 🍇💫 The tour was so authentic, personal, and full of history. 100% recommended if you visit Lanzarote 🙌 And to end the day, we went to Mirador del Río… what a dream! 😍🌊 The view up there literally takes your...
Read moreVery well worth a visit! The winery is brand new, so several of the wines are not on the market yet.
The upside of that is that you’ll get to try some very unique ones - the Malvasia sur lie was an absolute highlight, and I really wish it would’ve been ready to sell!
The winery is easy to reach by bus, just make sure to check the schedules.
From the wines we could bring with us, the rosé stood out with it’s freshness...
