Cala Giverola — Attraction in Tossa de Mar

The only nice thing is the view, this beach is very nice looking, that's all. NO fine sand besides other reviews, the sand is so coarse that you need shoes to walk comfortably on it 30 Euros entrance fee, which is covering only the parking, nothing else included difficult entrance into the water, too many stones and sharp rocks getting into the water (it is a must to have swimming shoes) There is a hotel owning/managing this beach. You will have no access to the pool or sunbeds even if you are willing to pay extra. You must stay in the hotel to use these facilities. Is not worthy to go there. I want to mention one more thing. We've asked the guy at the barrier (who charges you the entrance fee) about stones on the beach, and he lies telling us that there are no stones, only nice...

De entrada, hay una barrera a unos 150 metros de la playa donde se pagan 12€ por coche o 5€ por moto para acceder. Una vez aparcas ( la moto en nuestro caso ) , llegas a una calita de arena no demasiado fina ( ideal porque no se pega a la piel ) y bastante reducida de dimensiones. Dispone ( literalmente ) de de doce conjuntos de hamacas y sombrillas al precio de 15€, aunque si llegas después de las 11 seguramente no encontraras ninguna libre. También dispone de chiringuito donde comer un bocadillo frio o caliente, degustar una ensalada, tomar un café, una cerveza o un refresco. Después de haberte instalado decides que ya es hora de darte un remojón en sus aguas cristalinas, pero oh !!! cuando llegas a la orilla te das cuenta de que hay un cinturón de cantos rodados que se clavan en la planta de los pies y que no facilitan demasiado la entrada al mar. Pero si vas hasta la punta derecha de la cala, allí no hay apenas piedras y la entrada se realiza sin ninguna clase de trauma, sobretodo para los frioleros. Y cuando el hambre aprieta, te puedes dar una ducha de agua dulce allí mismo y acto seguido subir por unas escaleras al complejo turístico que dispone de terraza con self-service donde almorzar a partir de unos 8,5€ o un comedor aparte donde comer a la carta, mientras una banda de heptagenarios alemanes ( creo ) te amenizan la comida a ritmo de swing. Lugar recomendable para dejarse caer solo de vez en cuando, porque llegar hasta allí y pagar 20€ por entrar con moto + tumbona + hamacas ( y sin contar con el gasto en comida ) queda fuera del alcance de los humildes...

It is an amazing little isolated place. There are a few restaurants and a hotel. You can either go here by hiking or by a boat. It's not that far by hiking, just 1.5hrs. Boat is expensive as they are tourist boats with glass bottoms, which I would suggest to avoid if you are on a budget. The water is a bit warmer here. But there are lots of stones so a bit difficult to get into and out of the water... But once in, it's paradise. I went on a week day so there...
