Visited: Sep 3, 2018 This place together with the royal palace etc form a cluster of relics separated by a short distance. This place is bigger than the royal palace and has lot of beautiful structures. It was crowded on a weekend. Worth one time visit while at polonnaruwa.

Uno de los monumentos del llamado "cuadrángulo" de Polonnaruwa que más me llamó su atención por su sencillez y estado de conservación. Se trata de un monumento de origen algo confuso, pues no se sabe bien cuál de los monarcas de la Ciudad sagrada lo construyó. El centro representa una flor de loto, sagrada para los budistas. Por ser pequeño en comparación a otros edificios, muchos turistas lo pasan por alto, lo que es en parte una suerte ya que se puede contemplar a media distancia y apreciar así su belleza. Además, es muy fotogénico :D
