During my month long stay in Singapore almost every alternate day, I visited this temple for its serenity and the way it is maintained as per the hindu culture with regular poojas and practices. I used to be there at sharp 6am to have the darshan of lord muruga in the early morning and always had the prasadam given by the temple like pongal, puliyodarai vadai and thayir sadam, thanks and humble namaskarams to all the nagarathars who are involved in this great temple and for the charitable mindset. Being from the temple town of madurai, it's always a pleasure seeing my meenakshi and sundareswarar sannadhis in my visits with rudra chamaka parayanam. Eagerly waiting for my next trip to have darshan of lord dhandayudhapani with skandashashti kavacham played in the wee hours. After 6 months it's purely the divine grace that I revisited this serene temple on 25th September 2024 on a very auspicious mahalayapaksha punyakalam, Madhyashtami day to have the darshan of lord Dhandayudhapani and also had a beautiful abishekam of Sri Bairavar with syntilating nadaswaram and thavil vadyam alongside.

I went to this temple on 11 Feb 2025 to participate in the Thaipusam festival. However, the way the Hindu Endowment Board and temple management had planned many stops causing unnecessary delays along the way and to add there was a crowding (see photos) at the last stretch leading to temple. Hence, under the blazing sun with no natural shelter normally provided by the trees (the trees were cut the week before) many devotees suffered dizzy spells, fainting and some required first aid and ambulance assistance. The crowding was seen at the last stretch before the temple, however, the first aid post was set up far away beyond the temple entrance - poor planning. Lets hope they put in a bit more effort to think carefully to plan properly and do a good job in future.

Sri Thendayuthapani Temple, Singapore - better known as the Chettiars' Temple or the Tank Road temple, is one of the Singapore Hindu community's most important monuments. It was gazetted as a national monument on 21 October 2014. It was built in 1859 by Nattukkottai Chettiar community. This Hindu temple, dedicated to the six-faced Lord Subramaniam, is at its most active during the festival of Thaipusam. It is here that hundreds of pilgrims, their bodies pierced by hooks, spears and spiked steel structures called kavadi, end their Kavadi Attam procession from the Sri Srinivasa Perumal Temple on Serangoon Road. This act of penance and propitiation is carried out by devotees in gratitude to Lord Subramanian, son of Lord Siva, for granting their prayers.

Sri Thendayuthapani Temple, located on Tank Road, is one of Singapore's oldest and most revered Hindu temples. Built in 1859, it is dedicated to Lord Murugan and is a significant site during the annual Thaipusam festival, where devotees carry kavadis in a show of devotion. The temple's intricate architecture, featuring beautifully carved pillars and a richly decorated gopuram, reflects the Dravidian style. Inside, the serene atmosphere invites quiet reflection and worship. The temple is a must-visit for those interested in Singapore’s cultural heritage, offering a glimpse into the city's vibrant Indian community and spiritual traditions.

Positive vibes and nostalgic whenever we go to this temple. Recently on June 1st, 2023 temple had been consecrated after 14yrs. This temple is 164yrs old... one of the oldest temple in Singapore. The main deity is Lord Murugan. My daughter's first tonsure was in this temple. After the recent kumbhabishek, the temple is looking palich palich... haha! The temple has a library and a spacious, well decorated stage for cultural performances during special occasions. There is a wedding hall also available for booking.

The Sri Thendayuthapani Temple Is another place I was visiting in Singapore during the annual festival and I was fascinated by their tradition of walking from temple to temple carrying everything and some of them carrying stuff supported by needles attached to the skin. When the was over some men went to barber tent, they have next to the Temple and shaved their hair. Very busy and noisy place in that day with traditional music and people dancing on their way to the last Temple where the pilgrimage is finish.
